Hey Guys,

Congrats to everyone whose case is moving along! We just got back from a trip to the UK for my husbands best friends wedding using advance parole and wanted to fill you in on what happened when we returned to the US. FYI for any of you who plan on using it, NOT ALL THE IMMIGRATION OFFICERS know that USCIS changed the Advance Parole from a letter to a dual card with the EAD, my husband stood in line for an hour then was told he needed to get out and fill out another form and get back in line. By the time he got up to the officer again they sent him to secondary because they said he needed the letter ( but as you all know its just the EAD card with "Serves as Advance Parole" written on it....He had to wait while they dealt with two other passengers for an hour until finally the officer in there saw him. Luckily this one was aware of the new document that was being used and he apologized to my husband, had a nice little chat about growing up in CT (where we live) and then sent him on his way....In the end all was fine but it was a bit nerve-wracking seeing as I was waiting in the baggage claim for him not knowing what was going on! Anyways just wanted to let you know all know to make sure you bring as much paperwork as possible if you are traveling out of the country because apparently USCIS doesn't communicate with its employees....Bureaucracy at its best!

We were APPROVED!

The appointment was scheduled for 10:40 and we were called back around 11. The interview only took about 10 minutes. The IO simply verified that all of the information on our application was correct. She looked at our passports and asked to see if we had any new documents showing bonafide marriage. She already had our health insurance, so we showed her our auto insurance card that had both our names on it. She asked us what each other's birthdays are, how we met, and where our children live. Then she looked at some photos and congratulated us on our pregnancy. It was very simple. She said the green card should arrive within 4-6 weeks, but I can see that many of you only had to wait about a week or 2. GL to the rest of you awaiting your interviews!

 INTERVIEW APPROVED!! Thanks to all the people here in VJ who guided me with the whole process.

Our appointment was at 8:25AM but we got called in at 9:00AM. The officer introduced herself and swore us in. Then she asked for passport, EAD, drivers license. Then she asked how my husband got his citizenship. Then she verified the i485, asked when and where was my POE, and verified the g325. She was very thorough and double checked all my answers with the one written on the forms. She was also taking a lot of notes at the same time. Then she asked my husband when and where we met? When, where and who were present at the wedding? did we go on trips together? she asked if we have more proof then she made some copies. she also quickly went over the scrapbook of our pictures. finally she handed me a paper and checked the box. FOR FURTHER REVIEW.. omg! i felt so relieved the interview was over but at the same time very nervous. it means i still have to wait! I was worried! then at around 4:00PM i got an email and txt notification about an update in my status. CARD/DOCUMENT PRODUCTION!!!!

Thinking back at the interview, my husband and I were both able to answer all the questions. it was the officers' demeanor that made us nervous. she was very intimidating and did not smile at all.

I'm glad its over.. for now.. :)

That is so frustrating, knowing other filers has faster progress. I understand your concern about the long wait and i know it sucks to wait, but atleast you got your EAD and you can use that for getting a job while waiting for the interview letter..

Yea, I haven't heard from USCIS ever since I received my expedited EAD. I shouldn't hope for anything before August :(. Anyways, good luck to everyone who have interviews lined up and congratulations to those who already got the green card.
