@ Ms. FinUSA- I am scheduled for Oakland ASC but I'm trying my luck for an early walk-in at SF ASC. So anyone who knows?

i saw someone said that USCIS will not be affected..... and someone also called USCIS and they said they haven't heard anything about it...

but knowing USCIS customer thing isn't as accurate..but, i don't think those pending apps will be affected..i mean c'mon

we have paid, and they have cashed it..no way they're gonna stop processing it just like that...

i think all of us have this level of anxiety and paranoia LOL especially if we compare our timelines, then

someone else's timeline is going way better than ours xD

i'm just O:<!!!! at my online case status sometimes..saying "WHY YOU SO SLOW?!!?" XD

i just noticed that everytime we get really anxious and paranoid...

we always get something from the USCIS..like

when i was worried about my EAD...then hours later.. i have the approval xD

then i was paranoid again about not receiving the card in the mail..

then i just got it hahaha

oh well..

out of topic question:

i have my ead card under my maiden name..can i apply for ssn tomorrow and

ask if they can have my sscard under the married name?

@ Ms. FinUSA- oooppps, I just watched Hot Tub Time Machine on Netflix, and it was called Lougle now, lol. Kidding aside, thanks for the info. :thumbs:Too much watching for me, I'm a bummer! So I need that EAD quick!

@ Liz- You got that right!!! Freaking 1,500 USD!!! or maybe more for some of us!!! You better get your butts out there and work hard!!!

because i didn't know i can apply with my married name in my EAD and AOS

i just knew about it when i already sent out all the apps and signed up to be a member here XD

because i have no identification under my married name..and i read somewhere that they have applied

their AOS under their married name..but their passport's under the maiden name..and when they've had

their biometrics appt.. the security there couldn't let her pass or something because her ID and name

on the letter is different

so do you think i can make the SSA Office change it O_O

i know mrs.fin-USA did answer this or someone i couldn't remember that i can have my GC and EAD under maiden name

and have my SSN under married name... >.> but i need moer assurance XD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hope u understand me..thanks

Oh! I also don't have any identification cards under my married name?!!! SO how will the security guard deal with me?! Wouldn't the marriage certificate suffice? It should work for you too.

im already done with the biometrics..but since my ID and name on the appointment notice are the same..i didn't have

any problem xD

but i think the marriage certificate will suffice it. i dunno what state that woman was from..but i kinna felt

like she had a horrible experience... <.<

Biometrics was a success! Took me 30 mins, faster than i thought lol.

Here's the story:

It was exactly 1pm when i arrived at Chula Vista field office. Theres this security guard who looks tough and strict, but i was wrong. He was so nice and helpful. At first he kinda rejected me sayin he cant let me walk in coz my appt date is on the 22nd, I was like "i know but im trying to get it done today coz ill be out of town on that date." I even told him, man i only took the bus just to get here and it took me an hour. I acted helpless but not begging.. haha! He said that he'll try to talk to the supervisor if its possible for me to do a walk-in. I said, "Ok I will wait til this people finish." I was lookin around while saying that and guess what, there are less than 20 applicants. So i sat down.. After 3 minutes he called me and handed me a number slip and he was like "come here and this is your only chance." I wasnt surprised at all coz the office werent that busy.. (lucky.me) then he called my number and stamped my bio letter and i waited to be called again for the fp and pic taking.

If you guys are planning to do walk-ins, I suggest to show up around 1 or 2pm. Those times are the best time to go but it still depends on your field offices.

About the govt shutdown, i really have no idea yet but if its gonna happen lets hope uscis wont be affected.

well, good to know you've done your biometrics earlier than what is appointed, because i think your info will be entered earlier too

and this shutdown thing is making me worry O_O i'm like just a few more steps to GC..then bam!!!! i never heard about this shutdown..just now.. o.o
