well yea if they are dated april 8th i dont think you need to do early since they are not so far away. mines were for april 15 and 20. god i had to do something...

above all though, i haven't seen any benefits as of yet, no touches nothing...

Yea I guess that does make three. I was glad to see April 8th but my ASC is in Jamaica, NY. Hopefully everything will go to plan and we will get our EAD's asap.

Did you do OPT under F1? If not, you shouldn't have an alien number yet.. If you did do OPT, then you'd have the number.. and I wouldn't know why it's different. Maybe it is reissued with a new petition?

Did they tell you when your biometrics was scheduled?

I do not have any schedule because they do not require biometrics from me as of yet since it's already in their database from past biometrics (which, I honestly don't remember much about...) I had Work Authorization card 2009-2010 (Undergraduate F-1 OPT).

well to my knowledge, as an F1 you do not necessarily need to be assigned an A#.

USCIS only assigning you with such a number when you deal with them something like these -> (apply for OPT, being under deportation, i don't know... lost status due to not going to school etc.etc.) Basically when you apply for something.

I also know that USCIS will only assign one A# for any given alien, not two different numbers, which will be on any document related to immigration or by provided by USCIS, (such as green card).

so i am not sure what you meant by `...when I was on F1..`. I don't think you ever had an A#, unless you did OPT, and applied for EAD. But it wouldn't be different.

Bottomline is whatever number you see on those NOA1s that's your number.

Yes, i did OPT but when i got the EAD i did not do any biometric at that time. I guess its different now since its a different status.

I read some other immigration forums, and apparently you get assigned a new A# with your AOS. Your old expires with the OPT. So it's all good and all as it should be.

They gave you a new number because you are adjusting from a non-immigrant status to immigrant visa. The old A# was issued for OPT - which is still under F1, non-immigrant visa. The old A# would have expired when your OPT expires.

Average time between NOA and biometrics (that is biometrics appointment, I assume) based on VJ statistics is 37 days. I'd guess the biometrics letter can take anywhere between 1-3 weeks, on average. You just got your NOA a few days ago, so just hold tight. The biometrics letter will come. Unfortunately, as we can see from our groups progress so far, you really can't estimate your own timelines based on others who filed around the same time. I got my NOA before many others here, but then all of us got our biometrics letter the same day. The waiting times will even out along the process and most likely those of us who don't get RFEs will end up having our interviews around the same time. It will also depend on where you live and the work load of your closest office.

I think so far everyone's been progressing without any issues and getting their USCIS mail more or less within average processing times - fingers crossed it will stay that way for all of us!
