Some locations take walk-ins, i.e. non-scheduled appointments. I think some offices have official walk-in hours when yo can go and try. You might of course have to wait around for several hours, when you go without a scheduled appointment. I don't know if all offices take in walk-ins or not, but lots of people have seemed to manage to get their biometrics done earlier. I was gonna try that with my office, we'll see how it goes.

Thats what i was planning to do, but im sure he would say the same thing. I heard that in southern cali can take up to 30 days to get NOA, I even talked to a USCIS operator 2days ago and all she said is "Sir its been only 15days but if it took more than 30days and u havent recieved anything yet call us.."

Bogart, have your checks been cashed yet? Has your lawyer told you that the package has been delivered, or was it sent via regular USPS? It's true that before 30 days has passed, there's really no point calling them.. and for many it does actually take close to 30 days. Don't lose hope yet.

Was scouring around the 'interwebz' and stumbled upon this forum. Would love to join in! I hope I did my timeline correctly. This is my first post so let me know if there's anything I can correct. So glad to have a 'support' center and to see where others in the same boat are.

Question, and forgive me if this is the wrong place to put it, are you manually adding your timelines to your signatures? Or is there a way to pull the information that has been added to the timeline portion of the profile automatically?

Hi. In your account profile settings, go to cange signature, and there, manually type the details of your timeline. look at mine and the other's and that's how you write it, and finally you will see them always at the end of your mesages like this one I have below.

Thanks! I updated my timeline in my signature. And good news today!! Our checks were cleared today. I realize now that there are forms that applicants can fill out to receive email/text with regards to the NOA but our lawyer did not make us aware of this. So we're giving him 2 weeks from the time the packet was sent out to hear if he received the hard copy of the NOA or not. I hope we can still track our progress online despite the correspondance going to the lawyer's office instead of our home!

Once you get the physical notice of action, you will be able to open an account on USCIS.gov and track your case online. You wont need the lawyer for that. Even if he has the NOA, get a copy for your records.

Good on ya! How did the walk in go?

so we live in manhattan and we are assigned the one in downtown Varick Street

I got up at 6:30ish and arrived around 7:30. there were around 25-30 people waiting (i was getting really anxious, since there were so many people), even more people were coming every second.

at 8:0 o'clock guard say `please take out your appointment letters`, so we did. he went one by one everyone's papers. when it was mine turn he said `hmm, naaah that's fine`, i was like pheew lol

Went to the 10th floor, The first lady at the desk checked my appointment letter again, (I was like ooh snap...) but nothing was said about anything. filled out the form and went to the second desk.

There another lady checked the appointment letter again said ok, technician came and took me to the FP area, done the fingerprint and he said you should receive it in a month.

then I talked about my I-485 problem to him, first he was unsure but then talked to her supervisor. She found my case thru the system and printed my appointment letter for the I-485 biometrics. then he continued with that FP. nothing was said about any date except after all done, technician said don't show up on the 4/20 (I was like duuh lol)

by the way my printed I485 appointment was scheduled to 4/20, even later then EAD appointment which it was for 4/15

they are really nice people, not like one of those ( i-dont-wanna-be-here-employees of DMV)

now let's see how this will affect the overall process.
