My friend is deciding to separate from her husband. She came in on a K-1 visa. It is not working out between them they fight too much and said she can't live together with him. She has her green card. Can she file for citizenship & lifting conditions by herself?

She wont be filing for citizenship for a while.

She will need her divorce papers for ROC. You will want to head over to the ROC section of the forums. You posted in AOS which is not really anything of your question.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

If they are divorced she can file for removal of conditions right away on her own. She will need to prove she entered the marriage in good faith. I believe she will have to wait the full years for citizenship because she is no longer married to a USC.

5 year wait for citizenship if you divorce I believe, hence my other post saying she will have to wait some time before she can file for citizenship.
