(F) so sorry to hear that .. after interview RFE maureen.... but if you could send in back asap your RFE reply won't make any delay for your GC to come.

I took the chance as well of doing the DS-3025 form, many people advices, i read says you don't need to. But when i did go for it, the only vaccine they need me to get is the TDshot and it didn't cost me any. But the transfer of the DS-3025 "plus" TDshot vaccine certification letter that i got the shot from our insurance clinic .... the registered surgeon of USCIS only asked me for $20 fee.

So glad to know ... there's nice officer in Atlanta, me & my son are waiting for our interview schedule letter notice for now. Hopefully we already completely comply with every documents after that RFE by email.

Gudluck for your soonest GC arrival  , atleast .... you finished everything and you know what you missed than guessing like we did when we received the RFE notice in email.

Thank you and I sure do hope you'll get your interview letter soon. Best of luck! (F)

Sorry to hear that...I hope everything will go well.... that just reminded me to get my second set of vaccinations done, just in case... good luck though....

Thank you and yes it's better for you to go and get that form in hands before the interview. Good luck!

All the best of luck in getting this resolved quickly!!

Thank you ChanelKitten! (F)

I am so sorry to hear about your problem at the interview and hope it is resolved quickly- I think the interview must be stressful enough without hearing something like that! At least your officer was nice to you- I've heard people on here have real jerks which probably make it all the worse. Good luck!

Yes luckily the officer was really nice although you can tell she could be a hard cookie if she wants to lol. Thank you! (F)

Actually the I-485 form itself said that you only need to send the vaccination supplement as long as you had the medical exam within 1 year from the day of submission (you can scroll down to page 4 and read it there under Fiancee). It's just apparently some DOs still think that you need another I-693 while some don't.

Hmmm. I don't think there's any confusion about new medicals. I think the inconsistency comes in with the supplement.

Aaah... I see, I mixed the I-693 and I-693A. Sorry, my bad... :D

To the OP: sorry to hear about your delay, but just do what they say and you should be fine.

This would all be a lot easier if the USCIS would make their requirements clear. Many people pass with the DS 3025. Others have to get the 693A. There seems to be no pattern to it.

This is a simple RFE. It should clear quickly when you send them the form. It is a shame that they didn't RFE you by mail like most people. I know this must be aggrivating just when you thought this was all over with.

That's true Joe, sometimes people get away with just DS-3025 but I guess they are trying to change that now because the officer said the DS-3025 is issued by the U.S Department of State and what they need is the one from the civil surgeon here.

Oh well, we're trying to make an appointment to have this done sometimes next week and we have to drive to Ozark because that's the closest Civil Surgeon they have around Dothan.

Thank you Joe!

Maureen, if you have your vaccine records, you should be able to figure out if you need more vaccines.

Go to your consulate website. Many have a list of required vaccinations. The requirments are age specific. They are usually in a chart format.

Have a look and then come back and tell us if you think you need more vaccines....I'm curious about that.

Unfortunately they don't have that on the consulate website Rebecca but my husband said I'm not suppose to take more vaccinations since I'm over 5 months pregnant but I'm not sure yet. I had all my important vaccinations in Indonesia before I came here like the Tetanus DT, Hepatitis B, & Polio.

So sorry you are upset over your interview.... try to get the I-693a as soon as you can, I am sure you will get good news soon after that....

Sounds like your interview officer was friendly...

Kezzie

Thank you Kezzie, what's upseting is to get this far and so close...but my husband was right when he said this is the only glitch we had so far these journey and we should be okay.

Take care! (F)

Awww Maureen, so sorry to hear about your problems with the I-693A. I know many people who got their GC w/o submitting an I-693A with their AOS application, and only sent in their DS-3025. That's why I went ahead and got an I-693A and sent it in with Chutima's AOS package.

I hope you can get everything resolved quickly. We were able to get an I-693A for free, by taking her DS-3025 to a civil surgeon and having them transcribe it. I have heard others having to pay anywhere from $10 up to get it done. Just depends on who you go see.

That's good to hear that you could get Chutima's I-693A for free Robert and I sure do hope your journey will be go fast and smoothly. One thing we learn is it is better to be overly prepared lol.

Unfortunately the closest Civil Surgeon we have here is about 35 minutes away in another town and James had called them today. They said they normally charge $250 for that with another medical exam. He explained that based on the information given by the USCIS officer, we do not need another medical exam just to have them transfer the vaccination record I have. The person who answered the call said she need to talk to the doctor first and call us back tomorrow. I don't have the copy of my DS-3025 but I do have a form from the hospital where I had my medical with the list of all the vaccinations they gave me then so I guess I'll just have to take this with me.

Thank you Robert!

Maureen, we called around and found a civil surgeon in Roswell that will do the Vacc Supplement that you need without requiring you to have another medical. I found that it varies by doctor....some require that you have another medical, they don't care what the USCIS says (as one told me), that they can do whatever they choose. So, while you have your feet up call around and see what you can find out. That is, depending on whether or not you are up to date with the vaccinations. Joel needed a new tetanus shot along with the Vacc Supplement.

Hugs dear...it is almost over for you and your husband! (F)

My interview in Atlanta went exactly the same as yours on August 1st only I had a male interviewer. I thought that as I had all my vaccinations done in Australia before arriving in the US and having seen the US Civil person in Australia that I was all done as well. Now 1 month later I am still unsure what the status of my case is. We went straight from the interview to a civil surgeon on the list and for $70 they filled in the stupid 693A form I didn't even see the doctor just handed over the money and then went and posted it off in the envelope we had been provided with after getting the civil surgeons office to put it in that envelope rather than their envelope. So it was posted to them on August 1st. Every day I go to the mail thinking that I will finally get one of these welcome to America letters that everyone always talks about and a green card but still I wait. As my husband keeps telling me don't worry it will all be okay I also pass the same advice on to you although I know it is very hard not to worry when all this process is very stressful.

Hope all goes well with you,

Debby

We've only called one place here in Ozark which is the closest from Dothan and they are close today when my husband called them back to see if they could do the Vaccination Supplement without another medical exam. Hopefully they'll take that coz the another medical exam will cost $250 there. If not, maybe we have to go to either Montgomery or Birmingham. Sigh!

Thank you Karen and I hope you and Joel will have a smoother journey! (F)

Thank you for sharing your experience Debby, it must be really sucks because we have to go thru more waiting while we've could've get our GC approved already at the spot. That's what disappoint me the most I guess is to come this far and there goes another delay.

I wish we could've go to a Civil Surgeon right away after the inteview in Atlanta like you guys did.

Hopefully you will hear something from them ASAP. I'll pray that we both won't have to wait too long.

Good luck Debby!

Maureen,

Find a civil surgeon that will just fill in the I-693A for you and as I said although we had to pay $70 or $75 to have the form filled in without even seeing the doctor they said that it could be done as all my vaccinations had been done. Just another way for immigration people to collect $$$$.

Good luck with finding someone that will fill the form in for you without charging too much to do it.

Hope you get some good news soon.

Take care,

Debby
