We may be crossing at Detroit rather than Peace when we head back for a wedding....I'm a bit nervous with an expired GC (but the extension letter) if they'll be a pain about it? I've crossed their plenty of times, but because it's such a big border, they tend to be a bit more, umm, can I say "cranky"?

My husband hasn't had any issues crossing at Thousand Islands. He's just handed them his green card and passport, not even the letter though he has it with him. The US guys may have the extension in their computer because he said they poke a few keys and then let him go through without asking why his card is expired.

Okay, we mailed our form along with the $600 or so dollars around the 1st week of Feb and havent heard anything since.... They did cash my check about a week later... getting a little worried now. What is bio-metrics I keep hearing about? My hubbys card expired the last day in April so now I'm worried that if he needs to travel back home for anthing in the event of an emergency we dont have any paperwork.

Any suggestions would be great.

What service center are you using?

You sent it out in February and did not hear back yet? This is way to long. You need to call them and speak to somebody and let them know.

If February is correct then if you look at the thread of February you should have the biometric already.

Yes, I would definitely call them! That's much too long to have not at least received a receipt for payment.

Biometrics: you will receive an appointment letter to go to a service center in your area, you get your picture taken and finger prints. Part of the process of moving on to be approved for the 10 yr GC.
