My husband called USCIS and they told him they never sent out our NOA1 :bonk: They also had the wrong mailing address on file. :wacko: I'm not sure how because we have had the same mailing address for the entire process. Anyway they did give us our receipt number but we are not in the system yet.

Wow. That is ridiculous. So what about having that NOA1 to have proof that his green card is extended for a year? USCIS never ceases to aggravate me.

Oh & what I love the best is...I have called a few times to ask some questions about filing the I-751, someone answers my call immediately almost and is very friendly. But wait until I have a case with them...I will spend hours waiting on the line only for them to be rude, short & not give me the information I am requesting!

Stupid question, :bonk: but can we do our biometrics prior to our appointment? Or do we need an "reason" to do so.

I just had my biometrics taken prior to my appointment. I just went there. They did not asked me for any reason at all. Though if they did, i have an answer. :whistle:

Updating our Biometrics. Not sure what we are going to do, as I am due the first week of April - but I don't really want to go the 2 hrs each way to the appointment before hand in case I go into labour early...

If I leave it until the scheduled date, then there's a chance we won't have the baby yet if he/she is late. Ahhh.... Why can't these things ever be easy?

You should call the NCSC and explain your situation. Perhaps they can reschedule the appointment around your pregnancy. Doesn't hurt to try.

The other option is to reschedule the appointment via the instructions on the notice and hope for a date far enough after your due date that it won't be a problem. It seems like this could potentially delay your approval, but that's not really a big deal, since the timing of your ROC approval doesn't affect when you can apply for citizenship, or anything else as far as I know.

AOS:

03-20-2009: Married in San Diego (wife: F-1 visa and Chinese citizen, husband: US citizen)

03-29-2009: USCIS received AOS packet

04-03-2009: NOA1 issued

04-23-2009: Biometrics appointment

05-20-2009: EAD received

I just called the USCIS because I am so worried that the VSC has not cashed my check and I have confirmation via USPS priority mail that the application was recvd. You know they were not trying to give me any info unless it's been 30 days since the recvd date. GRRRRRR. They could have at least confirmed to me that they have the application and are processing, and I should recv the NOA shortly. This just stresses me out! Breathe girl Breathe!

Hey Mooseker, we are in the same boat as you - I'm scheduled for Bio in Alexandria for April 19th, but I want to go in early. (My ROC was sent 02/28 and NOA date is 03/01 - seems we'll be following the same timeline and the same local service center as well) Do you know if I can just walk in Alexandria office with the Bio letter or have to call in advance and schedule appointment? Are you planning on getting it sometime next week?

I work a compressed schedule with every other Friday off, so I thought if I can get 'er done on one of those Friday's it'd be sweet! Knowing USCIS they may be sticky about doing it early. I'll have to read the paper once I get it....hoping I get my bio paper this coming week!
