What happen to those who have to wait for a decision

Hi,

I always wondered what happens to those who had to wait for a letter of decision?

Did they wait for months, a year or years?

I see people who dont' get a decision right away ..Is that because of some ticket, or fine they had to pay or something of that nature?

And, what happens if they don't get aproved?

Would that mean that they continue as permanent resident, but can never become a citizen?

Meredith.

Hi,

It's depends on many aspects. Some applications can take weeks before approval while others take years. The Philadelphia office took one year and two months to approve my citizenship application after I sued them by filling a mandamus petition.

We are in that situation now, was totally unexpected demanding additional evidence not even called for, like did you pay your traffic violation fines. Of course my stepdaughter did, if she didn't, wouldn't have her drivers' license to show them. She was asked if she had traffic violations, had two, and said yes, told them both were well under that $500.00 limit, one was 86 bucks, the other was $186.00. The actual fines weren't that much, the court cost is the killer. We know that because chasing all over two counties trying to gather that information and replying as soon as we can.

She was also accused of having her drivers' license suspended, my insurance agent that has full access and in seconds, send me a pfd file with her two traffic violations, but we can't use that, have to write off to the state for a certified copy they want. I did do a net search on her, over 8,500 with her identical name on it, some pretty naughty girls listed with her name, but when I added her birth date, only came up with her two traffic violations. She was also accused of a battery charge when she was 17 months old and an assault charge when she was 4 years old. Found those as well, even with photos. Not of a very attractive 21 year old, but one mean looking SOB of a woman, not even of the same race.

So this is what they are putting us through with no good logical reason. How long? Have no idea. A friend in Illinois was delayed 15 months for not having a joint utility bill, back then my wife was asked for one, guess what, was prepared and we had just one. If I knew they were going to ask for paid traffic fines, would have prepared her for that, but they say they don't.

We never had problems with sending in the evidence they ask for in their instructions, its those they don't ask for that is the problem. If she doesn't get her certificate within the next five months, she is going to lose a very valuable scholarship. Doesn't help that my fellow Wisconsinites voted in two idiots into office, no help there that I had before. But they promised to reduce taxes.
