Hi Erick, let me ask you a question , you know something about a package, a called to department of state but i don't know if i should believed what they said, they said the us consulate in santo domingo have received my case package from NVC and they send me a package 3 ( Santo Domingo don't send no package 3 , only 4) i ask if i have any interview schedule and the girl told me "no, until they don't received the forms d230 and i864 they don't schedule an interview" so what package from nvc they said they received then? i don't understand .

can some body answer this question , if so i will be very glad!!!

Also.... I reviewed the website for DR and didn't see anything about the package 3 either.... maybe the operator mispoke. Have you looked at these websites? My link and My link ? If the Consulate/Embassy has received you package from NVC, then I would just call or email them. That's the best way to get correct information because they use the same procedures everyday (unlike DOS).

Called just now and received Case Number!!! 8 days!!! WHOOOP!!! Now for the intense part of the filing .....and prayerfully onto interview in a couple of months!!!!! OMG he may be here before our anniversary after all!!! (Unless this shutdown happens.... URGH)

I got to pay a pin ($ 7 dll), so day give me information, i call yesterday and the girl told me , there is no interview set for that case , to check back about 15 days ...i don't know if they notified me by email or call me ( in us consulate santo domingo the communication is horrible) so the thing i know i never going to call to DOS anymore....the last thing they told me was my case is in administrative process(wrong).

the thing about 'DoS Hotline' -

is that they have status on the casefile, after the casefile has left NVC -

and this will cover a timeframe from

NVC LEFT

to

VISA PACKET SENT OUT

with all the other bits in between.

What I've found really really useful, is, when calling DoS Hotline:

--ask for current status, with the date/time stamp of that status

--ask for prior 3 status thingies, with the date/time stamp of each thingie

then

KEEP A RECORD OF ALL OF THIS.

DoS Hotline isn't infallible, nor are they 100 percent accurate -

but

IF YOU KEEP THIS TYPE OF LOG -

you'll start to notice some patterns, as there are shifts in those 'prior 3 status thingies' ; sometimes even from one phone call to the next.

I'd never call the DoS Hotline 'useless', at all. The data in front of them comes directly from the Consular office, the IV Unit, albeit one to two days 'off'.

Grats! You should probably get the email of the interview package within the next few days. I got mine about 12 hours after I found out through an operator.

Consulate sent letter on april 11th for an Open Interview , yeiiiiiii

We've been trying to pay the AOS bill that still have not been invoiced. Today, when I logged on the invoice portal, it showed a SIF. And I logged on the IV portal and it showed one application pending, but the AOS link has been deactivated (it was activated a few days ago) Is that normal? Did anyone have a SIF after a few days of seeing "not invoiced"?
