Thanks Saylin. So after you got the confirmation for the optin did you have to send in the AOS and IV docs agian?

I think it was a week after I got my optin acceptance that an operator suggested I re-send the documents since they were still not in the system, so I re-sent them. Whether or not NVC reviewed my initial documents or the ones I sent the second time, I have no idea.

It's quite possible. Call an operator up and ask ;)

I didn't get a clear cut answer from the NVC operator. She said that the review of the last packet that I sent in (DS-230) is complete but the final review isn't and to give it a little more time. I asked her if it would be completed tomorrow and shd didn't really answer and finally said, give it until the end of the week.

I'd continue calling an operator each day this week until you hear 'case complete'. Also call the AVR as that will update when your case is complete.

Called again today to see if we had a case number yet. She said we have it here in the building but it has not been entered into the system yet. She said to wait 2-4 weeks and I would get a packet (ha ha ha.... ) so I sweetly said "Is there any chance that I could find out my number sooner than that? We are hoping to work through Electronic Processing and are just waiting on a number" and she was very nice and said to give it a couple days and check back for the number. That suits me fine for now. Gonna try back tomorrow or Thursday and see if my call prompted getting a number :)

Wish me luck for a case number by Friday!

Just keep calling! I'd call twice a day, so again later tonight. Exactly a week after my approval I was able to get a case number from the operator as they were inputting my case into their system. Don't forget to ask for the Invoice ID Number AND the Beneficiary ID Number once you get your case number. Also, give over the email addresses of both you and your spouse. Good luck! You can have a case number any moment. I'd be relentless with calling NVC if I were you.

Hello VJers. Quick question, just got off the phone with an operator who says i am not set up for EP yet. i know it takes about 2 weeks to get hooked up with that but she suggested i send the OPTIN email agian. just dont want to send duplicates email, so any suggestions or do i keep waiting to get the acceptance. After that do i still have to email the docs i already sent. Thanks for your responses

Suggest you resend OPT IN email, once a day, for a week. Somethings screwy at NVC.

RE: re-sending docs - yup - must do, once OPT IN is accepted and yer casefile is converted to EP-type.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

ya, these queues can be troublesome, if'n ya forget what they are.

SIF at the online payment portal usually means yer in 'case complete' status, but

then the casefile gets lobbed over into the 'final review' queue - once it's finished there

it's lobbed over into the 'awaiting interview scheduling' queue.

Queues are important, each has it's own 'wait' time - usually each thing actually takes 15 minutes of a human's time, but..

as there's a queue for each step, yer waiting on the other casefiles to finish up before a human will touch yours.

'case complete' only means 'NVC has all of yer documents'

and sometimes during final review, a checklist letter response is sent back, as they found something missing or incorrect.

Good Luck ! Call NVC often, ask about final review and status of final review.

Normally I would be, but since my husband doesn't have his stuff ready to go quite yet, I am fine with waiting a day inbetween. But NVC be warned when he gets it all in hand... THEN I'll be GO-GO-GO!!! LOL
