Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,

and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible without surrender

be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly;

and listen to others,

even the dull and the ignorant;

they are vexations to the spirit.

for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

I've always loved Desiderata, my mum used to have in a frame on her dresser and I always remember reading it as a kid and as I grew up, it making more sense.

I've always loved Desiderata, my mum used to have in a frame on her dresser and I always remember reading it as a kid and as I grew up, it making more sense.

My grandmother had it hanging in her bathroom, so I read it a lot as a kid too! She told me they found it written on a church wall in the seventeenth century, but that's an urban legend. Still a beautiful poem.

Eh, I still like it. But this is my favorite.
