Well I submitted a service request on Jan. 24, 2011 because our paperwork is outside normal processing time. This was the letter I received....

The status of this service request:

The processing of your case had been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case if not ready for decision, as the required investigation into your background remains open.

Until the background investigation is completed, we cannot move forward on your case. These background checks are required to be completed on all applicants who apply for the immigration benefit you are seeking. We will make every effort to make a decision on this case as soon as the background checks are complete. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us with 6 months of this letter, please contact customer service.

Total BS BS BS BS!!!! I submitted my husbands paperwork in July 2010 and received NOA1 August 2010. Been waiting forever and now they are telling me to wait 6 more months. I called USCIS and they told me that if I didnt receive a decision by March 1st, that I need to email DHS directly. Email address is: I-130inquiries.tsc@dhs.gov Im going to email them tomorrow. I also contacted my senator and his office called me back and got all of our information yesterday and is going to look into things for me. This whole process is so ridiculous!
