It looks to me like a polite way of telling you: Don't bother us for 30 days.

I have seen similar letters stating that they have been assigned to an immigration officer, which means your file is on an adjudicator's desk. But I don't see that here.

Chances are you will see something in 30 days. If not, call them again and remind them of this letter.

This is also a good opportunity to contact your Congress Member and send them a copy of the letter.

That seems to be some sort of standard letter they'd send to everyone, no matter how long their wait. I'll confirm in the next few days as we're also awaiting a response from VDC for a sr.

That is a standard letter that they send out to everyone and it can mean a few things

1. Don't bother them for the next 30 days.

2. Your case is considered under review as long as they have it.

3. At the end of 30 days you might receive another letter just like this one.

I hope you get an approval soon!

Might as well get writing to the ombudsman too. I don't see the point in waiting another 30 days for them to probably do something. VDC seem to be obsessed with the 'next 30 days' thing. That's all I've been hearing since december.

I don't know why they bother stating they process petitions within 5 months when they don't. I am sick of giving them an extra day, let alone 30 and definitely not 60! That's just beyond ridiculous. There must be a way to challenge them.

I would be happy to hear you get your NOA2 next week.

I think the key here is that the 5 month is an average. So when it looks like they're going to miss their target 5 month mark, they approve a bunch of 1 month petitions!

My fiance received the same answer when he called on 25 February 2011. He was even told to wait up to 45days. I guess it's a standard script for those who mark their 5months mark.

30 days is waaaaaaaaaaay better than this:

''On February 24, 2011, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case will be done. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Once a timely response to the request for evidence is received by USCIS, we review the evidence or information you submitted. If you submitted the requested evidence, we continue with the adjudication of your application or petition in light of the new evidence''

I'd be suuuuuper happy if they would have told me to expect something in 30 days. Let's do math...6 months (on tuesday) + 60 days more= 8 months! That's the actual processing time for CSC! Good luck!

Well, That, at least explains what CSC was doing last week. They sure weren't approving petitions. :bonk:

The only thing I don't feel too happy about is that lately some are getting their NOA2 in 30 days or less from the day they sent their I129F packet.
