Hello! I live in Greensboro, and had my Bio at the Durham location but my interview was in charlotte. The Dhurham location was pretty empty when i went, so i doubt they'd have any problem with walk-ins. The Charlotte location on the other hand i have no idea about, but if you live close to it, then you may give it a try. The worst they can say is no :D Good Luck

Thank you for your reply! We live 40 minutes away so we will definetly give it a try. From what I read here, mid week days are pretty relaxed. We'll see. We are planning on going there next Friday. I'll keep you posted! Have a blessed weekend!

I had my biometrics appointment today in Charlotte, NC. We wanted to try a walk in last week, but we could not get off work.(I say "we" because my husband wanted to come with me!)The appointment was at 11 AM. We got there at 10.15. The guard, a very nice lady, checked the appointment letter and my driver license and, when she said "the names don't match" (I filled in the AOS papers with my husband's name, my DC has my maiden name), I took out the marriage certificate out and gave it to her. She smiled and said, "You knew that was coming, didn't you?". Then, she gave us a clipboard, a pencil, and a "Applicant Information Worksheet" to fill out. Just the top part of it, actually. The sheet was asking for my name(put my new name), my birth date, my address, my alien number (or my SSN if you don't have it), and the receipt number. There were two lines for two receipts numbers. Since the biometrics were for I-485 and I-765, I figured these are the two numbers they need. Luckily, I brought all NOAs with me, so I was able to fill them in. After I finished filling in, I gave the sheet, my driver license and my appointment letter to the receptionist. She stamped my appointment letter, wrote I-485 an I-765 on the applicant information worksheet and gave them back to me together with a waiting number. Bu now, it was 10.35. There were 15 person in front of me, but the three ladies taking the fingerprints were moving pretty fast. They called my number at 11.00 sharp. First, they put the information from the sheet into the computer. Then, they took my fingerprints and my picture and I was done! We left the office at 11.10. All in all, a nice and pleasant experience. I hope the interview will be the same!

Thank you VJ for the support and advice!
