Can someone please help me to figure this out! I am getting all the paper work ready for my ROC, and we moved to a new place, so i am going to mail AR-11 form of address change for myself. My husband is a U.S Citizen, he was a petitioner, but his father was the one filling out the affidavit of support form(so he was the sponsor), since at the time of my AOS application my husband was a full time student. So i am kind of confused and don't know if my husband should mail address change form also.(his father still lives at the same address).I would really appreciate if anyone could help.Thank you!

Husband "Petitioner" MUST be primary sponsor even with little or no income and using a joint sponsor.

Father was a joint sponsor.

Husband had to have file an I-864 when your adjusted status, and needs to file an I-865 when moving.

Thank you!!!I was trying to remember if my husband filed I-864,so i guess he did))So we will have to mail that form also.Do u think it matters that we do it two weeks before i am going to file my ROC? I know people say it doesnt really matters when u file it, as long as u do, so that USCIS has your current address, just wanna make sure with someone who knows:-)Thanx again for clearing that out for me!!!

AR-11 needs to be filed within 7 days of a move and I-865 needs to be filed within 30 days of a move, however it is very common for sponsors to overlook the I-865, just file it ASAP, I have yet to see a post of a sponsor getting into trouble for late filing it.

Correction. AR-11 within TEN (10) days as seen here: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa.Prompt.Citizen

If you are not a U.S. citizen and you have moved, you must complete a Form AR-11 and submit it within ten days of the completion of the move for legal purposes.

And the I-865 is TEN (10) business days as well. As seen here: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa.Completion.CitizenNoPending

If you have previously submitted a Form I-864 for someone who immigrated to the U.S., you must complete a Form I-865 within ten days of the completion of your move.

The issue is the form I-865 actually specifies 30 days here: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-865.pdf so it's contradictory but seeing the primary sponsor and immigrant are probably living together (majority of the time you'd hope) they can just send their AR-11 and I-865 at the same time (before the 10 days deadline).

Out of interest I've actually heard of a couple of people who've ended up in trouble for not changing their address. The issue wasn't really changing their address though, so much as USCIS tried to contact them (for whatever reason I can't remember) and of course they didn't get the mail. Because there was no change of address in the system when they try and "fight" the issue they have no leg to stand on because they didn't do what they were supposed to... but then I've also read of people getting online updates saying "your address needs to be updated" but almost every time I've seen that it's because USPS stuffed up and returned the mail, not because they actually moved.

I lean towards it being unlikely that you'll get into trouble, but that doesn't mean you should slack of with changing the address.
