Hi friends, just a question regarding the date on the Letter of Employment for the I-134. Can anyone please tell me just how close that date written on the letter needs to be to the interview? We are still waiting

on NOA2 but my supervisor is willing to write the letter for me now. I just don't want that letter to be outdated by the time my fiance's interview comes around. We should hopefully have our NOA2 around April

5th (at the latest - we hope, because that would be 6 months). Our embassy will be the US Consulate in Lagos, Nigeria, and usually they schedule interviews approximately 3-4 months after they receive the

paperwork from NVC. So should I just have my supervisor wait until we actually have the interview date or is it okay to go ahead and have it dated from now (February 2011). Thanks guys. LemonMeringue

If you can wait, I suggest waiting just to be safe.

My fiance's letter of employment has a January date but my interview isn't until May. I'm hoping it won't be an issue for me as I will have plenty of supporting evidence (tax returns and a lot of paystubs) to prove that he still works with the same employer.

My and my co-sponsor's letters were 4 or 5 months old by the time we had the interview, and there was no problem. If you can, have it be as current as possible, but if you can't I think it's fine.

What! 2 months! I mean that's great and all, but that's too soon. i have all the paperwork ready to send off, just hoping it gets there before the interview. Takes 3 weeks just for him to get my packages. I've been calling DOS and emailed the embassy, but nothing yet. Our case left NVC on Feb. 9.

I waited until I was approved before I asked for my letter of employment.

What did DOS say when you called them? I am thinking 2 months because the last interview dates came out are for April and they were giving there pkt 4 with interview date inside in Feb. and already have interview in April which is super fast for Lagos...maybe it is a fluke maybe not......You should be ok no worries :star:

DOS just tells when my case left NVC.

If you are referring to latest VJ interviews for Nigeria, the average is about 2 1/2-3 month. The latest couple with an April interview were approved (Feb 1) one day prior to ours but we haven't heard anything yet. That's why I a little concerned. I'm sure we'll hear something next week.....I hope.

Are u asking them at the DOS about ur interview date they should tell u more than when ur case left nvc ask them has ur case arrived in Lagos? Once they say yes you then ask has there been an interview date assigned? And yes im referring to the latest couple approved and from the time they got pkt 4 to interview date is 2months.........
