We're not fighting them over there, we're creating more of them. Iraq was no threat to us. Iraqis weren't coming here to destroy us. Now, more than 2500 of our citizens have died over there. For only one reason: That they were sent where we had and have no business of being. Those 2500+ citizens would be alive and well today had the Yahoo in the White House not sent them there to fulfill his personal wet-dream.

True. But regardless it’s the man at the top of the tree who has to take responsibility for the current situation, which was after all his idea. If he doesn't want that responsibility (i.e. the exercise of power without responsibility) then perhaps POTUS was the wrong job for him?

The cronyism in the senate and congress is little more than a symptom of the current climate - where putting your party first comes before any moral / ethical principles.

Not to mention "I don't get" this idea that "not fighting them 'over there' will mean fighting them 'over here'. It’s a slogan of course, so not surprising that noone ever seems to question what it means. I'd argue that there's a far greater threat from domestic extremists, and creating home grown islamic extremists who object to America's foreign policy as well as the increasing amount of prejudice they are being subjected to at home.

Perhaps Iran et al should start up a new airline "terrorist tours", so that beady eyed Bin Laden clones can fly to the US en masse, where they will be cheerfully let in by immigration. Because of course - that's rooted in reality
