Hello! We have our inerview in 2 weeks and still no police certificate from Canada. We sent all fingerprints and infor to RCMP 2 months ago, their website at that time said 2-4 weeks. Called today and they said they have changes the wait time to 7-10 MONTHS! Any suggestions how I can get this before ourm interview? Thanks!

I just walked into the police station near my house (who told me to go to a larger main police station next town over) and I filled out a form paid 45$ and waited 5min. They just did a name search they did not need to do fingerprints...not sure which Visa you are going for but mine was for K-1 and it was just last summer with the interview just in December and it was all good..

Are you applying from out of Canada in another country? Then yes its quite a long wait nothing to really do about that cept for have applied earlier.

If you are in Canada then you should go to your local RCMP and have it in a few moments. You don't need to do finger printing unless you have criminal history or are outside of the country living in another country.

I live in toronto and got my police check about a month ago. It took a week for me to get it. The gentleman who assisted me told me that I didnt need to have the fingerprinted one done for US immigration purposes unless I had anything criminal on my record. If I had never been in trouble everything would be fine.

It was, I was all clear and got it within a week like I said.

I am also waiting for my police check from Canada, I emailed them and got a reply today saying it takes about 8weeks before they fingerprints. I was wondering that even though I am living in a different country, would I be able to fly to Canada and go to the police station and get the check done like previous posts have mentioned?
