Thankfully the first and most unpredictable part of this journey is done now. Noa 2 on the way. According to all timelines, I was due to be approved...but after waiting for 6 months I still requested and filed a Service Request.....I got the Noa 2 approval today...5 days later. I still look back at all the people waiting since earlier in August with sorrow. Why does a 20 minute process take so long at such an emotional cost to us.

My only suggestion is that if you are at your 5 month timeline...please at least try and get the service request. I consider it a safety net that another person will have to find your file and eventually explain where it is. I did not want to be like some of the early August filers..and watch the approvals for September.

Congrats on your approval.

I have a few questions, the first being: did you file an I-129f or an I-130?

I'll be reaching the 5 month point next week on March 10th. I'm trying to do my research on service requests. I was wondering how soon can you file a service request? Right after the 5 months? Or should it be 6 months? If you or anyone else reading this knows I'd really appreciate a reply.

Lastly, what exactly did you say when you filed a service request? I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to say when I call them. I would obviously have to give them my name and receipt number but what else should one tell them in order to convince them of granting the service request?

Thanks in advance for any replies.
