I had my biometrics done today, exactly two weeks after the date USCIS received our paperwork (we're in CA). Has anyone had the same experience? Our forms have been touched a few times already, and even though I know that does not mean much, my husband and I are excited to read so many good experiences from other couples.

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

My story:

09/23/2002 - Met Chris online, there was something very special about this guy =0)

07/16/2006 - We got married in Reno, Nevada.

USCIS:

08/13/2006 - Filed for AOS, AP, EAD - they were VERY carefully packaged with a detailed cover sheet on top of each of the forms, just as VJ's instructions recommend. It was A LOT of work, but it did pay off! (we firmly believe this is what sped up our process big time)

08/31/2006 - Biometrics appointment

09/09/2006 - Received my AOS appointment date!

10/26/2006 - EAD touched and AP APPROVED!

10/27/2006 - AOS appointment at 7:30 AM! APPROVED IN EXACTLY 70 DAYS!!!

11/01/2006 - EAD approved

11/02/2006 - Email notification - greencard will be mailed as soon as it is ready! YAY again!

11/02/2006 - Welcome to the United States of America letter in the mail! Almost there! =)

11/06/2006 - EAD card and White card (a.k.a. greencard) arrive in the mail!

Your case seems to be going smoothly.. With a bit of luck you should have the interview in no time. Better yet may even be approved without an interview..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

If you know the name of your local office, you might get some more information. I am down in SoCal doing AOS, Santa Ana office. I got my bios done within two weeks same as you and the interview is scheduled for 11 Sept. I got the letter about the interview about a month after submitting paperwork.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Infidel, Laura and PurpleHibiscus, thank you so much for your replies. I didn't feel any special because of the two weeks biometrics and all, I just wanted to see if anybody else had the same experience =)

Thanks and the best of luck to you all!

Me and my wife are on the fast track as well. Two weeks after we submitted AOS we got her fingerprints finished. Oct 3 is her interview. We need another medical for $100.00 due to expiration date, but nearly all of the documents we already have. I hope this trends picks up for EVERYONE.

yes biometrics seems to be done quickly after filing, but unfortunately, in my journey anyway, didnt mean anything about the amount of time it would take to process the rest of my case. I had my biometrics a couple weeks after filing myself and after an rfe, i didnt hear anything for two months. But thats just my experience.

Good luck!

Hi pipitastro, thanks for your reply. I'm well aware that this is going to be a challenge to our patience, but it's always great to share experiences and learn about other people's cases as well.

Hi everyone, as promised, I came back to update the status of my case: two weeks after I had my biometrics done, I have received as of yesterday, my interview appointment letter - YAY! It is going to be October 27, I know I have to wait a while until then, but I thought I'd share this awesome news with you. My husband and I sent in our paperwork on August 13, which means that our final interview will happen less than 2 and a half months after filing. Plus, I thought that getting married on a tourist visa might complicate things, but apparently not.

For all those who have been waiting, hang in there! I'll be sure to post again after my interview.

Ciao!
