Dear all:

I would like to ask you guys couple of simple questions before I send out my N 400. I am a resident since 06/03/2006. Should I apply for Naturalization on 03/10/2011, keeping in mind the that I can apply before 90 days. I came here in a F2A category and my mother filed my case for me.

According to the USCIS website I only need to send:

1. N 400 application form

2. Photographs

3. Money Order

My questions are:

Do I need to send my 5 year IRS transcripts with the application (My friend said that I should send them my IRS transcripts)

Do I need to send my W-2's, if not now, will they ask me on my interview day (If yes, than I will start looking for them in my documents, I have changed couple of jobs in these 5 years)

Is there any other additional document I need to send with the application that I haven't specified, please let me know. Any help in this matter will be very appreciated. Thank you guys!

Can mail the package within 90 days prior to 5 year residency aniversary.

Tax return question came up yesterday.

IRS returns are primarily to base on 3 years of marriage and continuous residency with a US Citizen.

However based on the N-400 instructions Transcripts or a photo copy of returns are fine.

Also:

USCIS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications.

I suggest you do not send a money order. Send a personal check instead so that you can see on your bank account when it has been cashed.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Thank you guys for your prompt response. I ran out of my checks recently and ordered a new one just recently. If it arrived on time I'll send them a check, if not, I will get a cashier check from Bank of America. So I will send photo copies of my 5 years tax returns. My last question was that do they ever ask applicants to bring original W2's.

Thanks again for all your help
