@dirtyd301:

I got back from my vacation, and there still is no news concerning my case. Could you tell me whether in the meantime you have received that letter they told you about? And whether it tells you WHERE they have transfered your case to...?

@jenn3539:

That's what I suspected.....in your mail it's clearly stated that it was the CSC they transfered the case to.

I am pretty sure that for us others who just received the mail without an office location, it just meant that the initial processing in Chicago was completed and they sent it to the local office.

(Although, why they needed three months for my case to be sent to the local office is beyond me :angry: )

Anyway.....I am still thinking about making an infopass appointment to ask about the location of my case.

Good luck to everyone waiting,

CW

Hey CW,

We haven't received a letter yet either. It figures. I think that I may call this week sometime if we don't get it soon. whats weird is that this whole week I have been getting touched all the same days as the people who were transferred to CSC. I am really confused!!!! I could be wrong but I don't think that it has been sent to my district office because the guy I talked to told me that it was there and was transferred from there. I mean he could be wrong that happens quite often at USCIS!! :D i guess just keep me updated if you find anything out and I'll let you know about mine!!!

Oh, well.....don't we just LOVE our experiences with USCIS :whistle:

At least your case is being touched.....mine hasn't seen any action since Mid-August (and mid-June before that). :(

I don't think I'll try calling the (mis)information hotline. If I'll do anything, I'll make an infopass appointment and talk to somebody at my local office. But I'll give it a few more days, maybe something will happen next week (the eternal optimist :D )

Yes, let's keep each other posted, hopefully we'll both receive the greencard soon.

Good luck,

CW

Yes, the letter that we received was part of a form I-797C and in the box on the right it was written,

"NOTICE TYPE: Transfer Notice."

Under that in the large box was written,

"This is to advise you that in order to speed processing we have transferred the above case to the following INS office for processing:

California Service Center,2nd Flr. 24000Avila Road, Laguna Niguel, CA. 92607-0111

Telephone, (800) 375-5283)

This office will advise you of the decision made on the application or petition. Any further inquiries should be made to that office."

When we called the phone number we were told that it had been disconnected!!

We sent a snail mail letter, overnight, certified mail, receipt, asking what was our status? We then receied a RFE. We responed with the requested tax forms, income statements and a letter from the probate judge about our marriage certificate. Later we received the 'APPROVED' email followed a by a permanent green card in our mail box.

Good Luck and keep the faith!
