A question about After the interview

I've been trying to find some information about after the interview. I was looking at the guides, and they are general... not including this information. Also some posts are a bit misleading. My wife's interview will be in March. I understand that the Visa Officer, VO, will tell them/give them a sheet that says if they are approved or not. Also, I know sometimes other things happen afterwards and an initial approve can be denied. My question is about the wait between being approved and getting her visa. The Guangzhou consulate website says within 3 days, typically, the visa is ready for pick-up. I was reading some posts and they spoke of administrative review. I thought that was just for the USCIS stage and I-130. Or is it after the interview it goes through an additional Administrative review. It'd be nice to clarify this on some of the guides...

An additional question. When she submits her documents, should she submit more pictures, chats/etc... or is it better for her to bring them to the interview instead. I know this is probably answered in MANY other posts, but I'm feeling lazy today :P

A few things, the VO will give one of three sheets after interview.

  • Pink sheet, generaly means approved, will pay a mailing fee at the exit of the counselor section to have the package either mailed to a nearby post office, or to an address within Guangdong province or several other cities within China.
  • Blue slip, means administrative review, or require additional evidence gathered and submitted later.
  • White slip, Notice of Intent to Deny

As for submission of additional docs, you had your chance when submitting to NVC or when filing petiton, simply bring additional stuff into the interview.

MUCH, MUCH more...

A coupla days after the interview, call DoS Hotline (# in my profile) and inquire for case status.

IF she was put in AP or AR after the interview, you'll find out with that phone call.

Also, SHE can ask the VO at the conclusion of the interview, "Will my visa be issued immediately, or will you require more time to finish the namechecks? ", before leaving the VO's counter.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
