Hi,

Just a quick question. I'm heading off to a Post Office to pay for my tourist visa application. The information page says the visa costs US$140 and that the current exchange rate makes this AU$147.

Here's the info page...

http://canberra.usembassy.gov/niv_fees.html

When I go to pay do I pay in US$ or do I just pay whatever the page says the current exchange rate is?

Emma

As I understood from the consulate page, you pay in local curreny and if you are mailing it then Money Order / Check or by credit card.

If you are submitting the application in person then I believe you can make payment in cash as well.

Hi Emma,

When I went to the Post Office to do mine the post worker just got the visa number brought it up on the computer and then said how much I had to pay in aussie dollars....DONT LOOSE THE RECEIPT....my visas were nonrefundable and the post worker (good friend of mine) told me to double check I was getting the right one....cos she couldnt refund under any circumstances....so take in your paperwork...I paid via eftpos savings a/c....I think that was a stipulation too...cldnt use visa or m/c
