hi everyone,

does anyone know where is the number of a birth certificate abroad? my husband is american citizen but he was born in israel, however, he does have an american birth certificate because he got his citizenship through his parents.

we have the birth certificate but we can not find the number... however we did found a number in the down right corner of the birth certificate..is that the number?? please if somebody know let me know,,I would appreciate it..we need to know that number in order to fill the I-130

Are you referring to question 13? If so the certificate number referred to is a Naturalization certificate, not a birth certificate.

12/01/2010: Married!
12/14/2010: Mailed AOS Packed to Lockbox
12/23/2010: USCIS Receipt notice for I-485/I-130/I-765/I-131
01/05/2011: Successful biometrics walkin at Charleston WV office!
03/04/2011: EAD and AP combo card in hand.
04/21/2011: AOS Interview at Norfolk local office. APPROVED & Card production ordered!
04/25/2011: Welcome to the US letter received in mail.
05/02/2011: Green Card arrives in mail!

08/28/2015: NOA for N-400

When born abroad, derive citizenship through parent, if applied for a citizenship certificate, the use the number on the cert, if never applied for one, simply check the "NO" box.

A complete copy of US passport, can serve as proof of citizenship.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

YEAH!!!!!! I'm talking about the question 13..he did not go through naturalization because he is an American born abroad so he got a birth certificate abroad from the foreign service of the united states of america and his passport but the certificate only has a number with 8 digits in the down corner of the certificate and I want to make sure that is the number ...if anybody is in the same situation please contact me
