Plan on being patient, no true mental deadline since I dont know when the embassy will reopen.

I do have all the required documents for the NVC and forms ready to go. Just waiting NVC to receive my files and I can get my case #, the IIN and pay the fees.

I do wonder if even if the embassy is not fully opened, files completed at NVC will be shipped to Cairo and just wait to process them till they are full staffed or will NVC hold them till they reopen completely.

I read somewhere on here that NVC was telling people they were holding all files until the embassy reopens, but I did receive an email from the embassy this morning telling me that they had consular officers in the embassy working on my fiance's case, and a prior email they stated they were only working on immigrant visa files, and for those who already had their interviews. A woman at the field office for Egypt told me yesterday that people who were waiting for interviews were going to other embassies to complete their cases.

I doubt that people that are scheduled for an interview will be interviewed outside of Egypt
