While you have a point, at the same time elections are often decided by people who make last minute decisions as well.

I will, however, grant that if elections were not as media-driven we'd probably have even better candidates to pick from. The requirements that candidates be telegenic and be good at answering complex 'debate' questions in 30 seconds or less are not requirements that should be part of any meaningful selection process for President.

Speaking of what voters voted for- particularly in Wisconsin, I am still searching for where exactly it was that the now Gov. Walker campaigned on a promise to dictatorially delete collective bargaining rights. If anyone can point, especially in the Walker campaign website, where it says that's what he wanted to do (and by consequence, earned him that specific level of support from the 'taxpaying' voters), I would really appreciate it.

Until now, it has not been shown. Therefore, until now, saying that voters elected him to end public union collective bargaining rights is nothing more than a lie.
