Hello All :)

we got our petition approved few days ago and we are still waiting for the letter from the USCIS!

What is the next steep?....

Between the documents i should brought to the interview... is the I-134 required!? is this something we will know about when we got the USCIS letter or the letter from the US consulate in Casablanca?

I am really confused :innocent: and need some clarification!

your help will be appreciated!! thanks in advance!

Moving this to regional.

Most consulates require it, however technically is is an optional form.

Seem to recall Casablanca not requiring it, however it is advisable to have one handy.

Eventhough it is optional, my understanding is that you will need I-134 and later when you marry you will need I-864 which will be binding.

FYI

I-134 is used with non-immigrant visa applications

I-864 is used with immigrant visa applications and adjustment of status

There was a period of time last year (when my husband interviewed) when they were requiring the I-864 out of Casa, I believe now they are back to the I-134. Use whatever form they request on the interview letter and you should be safe. If you are not sure and don't mind doing an extra form, you could just send both to your fiance just in case.

Good Luck,

Jackie

In my husband's case it took one month between NA02 and the letter from the consulate. It depends on the volume...some people get them in a couple of weeks, others wait more than a month. In two weeks you can call the NVC for an update, they will let you know if your case is on it's way to the consulate, then after another week I emailed the consulate to ask if his packet had been sent and interview date issued. I know a month seems like a long time...but it flew by.

Thanks Jackie for your reply!... it help so much to hear from others that have been in the same case!

I think waiting is my Karma during this whole process! I just want to know when I will get this letter that I can resign from my job! and move on with other tasks!

Timing is quite important in my case!

Thanks again !
