I had applied for my son F2A in Jan 2010. Due to speedy processing, we were able to submit all fees & documents within a few months and case was completed at NVC in November 2010. We've been waiting for an interview date since then, and now this STUPID RETROGRESSION. We wrote to NVC regarding the situation and got this response:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The applicant's name has been placed on the list of documentarily qualified cases awaiting the availability of visa numbers under the numerical limitations prescribed by statute. The designated representative of this case (applicant, petitioner, or attorney) will be notified of an appointment date as soon as the numbers have been received. The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

An immigrant visa is usually valid for six months from the date it is issued. It may be used to apply for admission into the United States any time during its validity.

Anybody knows what they're talking about? What kind of list is this?

Son's Priority Date (F2A) 12/19/2009

Case completed at NVC 11/23/2010

Interview 6/6/2012

Visa in hand 7/23/2012

I'm sorry to hear that. Whens your priority date?

suggest you call into NVC, get a Human, ask when the final review will be started.

It may be you will be suffering from the VISA RETROGRESSION - though it's hard to say, since your casefile was completed (all documentary things sent in) already.

But - if you know when the final review is started, that's a good thing - as the case will be pitched into the 'interview queue' afterwards.

Suggest you call every few days until the answer changes from 'huh?' to 'yesterday'.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
