I love housework. Crank up the music, get naked, and have fun!

Ewwwwwwwwww! LOL Please tell us you do not do that! LOL LOL... geeze.

I don't mind cleaning, but I absolutely hate to unpack after a move! It would be too soon if I see one more unmarked box sitting full of 'stuff'' in the garage. In fact, I can't stand unpacking anything, which includes but not limited to, luggage, the diswasher, grocery bags, the car, the gear bag full my son's dirty smelly LaCrosse or Wrestling gear, a lunchbox with dirty tupperware, and a 10 x 40 Storage unit that has been sitting there while we find a home closer to work! Ugh... all of it... the thoughts.:help:

We are currently having a "discussion" about household chores at my house. I want to hire someone to do the heavier stuff, twice a month. Hubby doesn't think we should be paying someone to do it, so he claims that he's going to do it, which is going to be a disaster, and I will end up doing it. Maybe I can hire a secret cleaner. It will be like my own unique kind of affair.

We had the same conversation. I hate cleaning the house so I didn't even though I kept saying I would. Weeks would go by without a carpet vacuuming. Eventually when my wife became pregnant I relented and hired a cleaning service. They come once every two weeks, which is turning out to be just right for us. We had originally thought we'd cancel the service once the baby was born but I am very happy with the service and doubt I will cancel it at this point unless I can't afford it.

Vacuuming! I hate, despite, loathe and just in case you didnt' get the message - DON'T LIKE vacuuming!

Our vacuum is a big pig of a Windtunnel and even though it has self-propel, it is just to big and cumbersome for our house. It makes a huge noise, the cord gets super hot, I am constantly tripping over the cord - or it is getting caught on the furniture. I have to stop it, move the furniture, start it and two handle haul it around using my foot to kick it into the little bit of a turn it needs to clear the legs of the furniture - and it is too big to fit under anything - end tables, coffee table, - I have to move all of them. The beater bar doesn't get into the corners or the edges of the room so I have to use this super short vacuum hose that is always on the wrong side of the machine, attach the two extensions and then go over the edges and corners in the room, often on my hands and knees because of where the hose is related. It is totally unmaneuverable - don't talk to me about 3 point turns - this monster requires 12 point turns in order to get it to change directions 90 degrees - I generally just use two hands and lift it off of the ground to turn it around to go in a different direction.

My husband bought it when he had an empty house with no furniture. He is a strong man and had no trouble vacuuming on his own because had no furniture in most of the rooms. Now, we have furniture. He also has all of his computer stuff set up in the den, the office and the spare room he uses as a computer room - and I have tangles of cords everywhere! Of course, I have to move all of those to vacuum under them - and he always complains that they are jumbled now (they were jumbled before!). It takes me several hours to vacuum - the vacuum might be on for 45 minutes of those 2 hours - the rest of the time is moving the bloody furniture and his electrical cords! Grrrrr!.

So, if someone wants to come and do my vacuuming for me, I will glad do their laundry for them! I actually like doing laundry :P !

Time for a new vacuum, and have an electrician check all your wiring. I think vacuuming is one of the easier and more productive chores, but you need the right vacuum, and need to keep it maintained, otherwise, you just redistribute all that dust, and scare the cats for nothing.

I would love a new vacuum - I really like the idea of the Dysan Ball - it looks like it was actually designed by someone who vacuums! The wiring in the house is good - it is a relatively new house and has no issues with anything except the vacuum. I have had it looked at and the repair service can't find anything wrong with it - just says that the cord is expected to get hot. It vacuums well enough and it is regularly maintained but yeah, I would love a new vacuum - although I don't think anything out there wouldn't scare the cats, except maybe a Romba which they might see as some sort of toy and then chase it around the house . . .

K.: Strap Velcro onto the cats and throw catnip-balls under all the furniture. When the chaos ends, unstrap Velcro from cats and enjoy the prodigious results minus bending/groaning/furniture-moving. Feed treats to cats. Repeat process as needed.

If I designed a kitchen for myself, it would have adjustable height counter tops. It hurts my back sometimes to have to bend over to use the sink.

you wash the dishes too at your house also, eh? :hehe:
