what household "chore" do you hate the most?

OMG, the bathtub! The master bath in our new house is so huge and deep that I have to actually get inside it to clean it. Which is a chore in itself. I won't take baths in it because I'd have to clean it afterwards. I can't wait until we can redo that bathroom. The former owners must have been huge.

Sounds like the makings of a great porno. Plumber shows up at front door with a snow shovel and says, "so you need someone to clean your pipes?".

Cutting up, tying and taking out the recycling. I can't leave it on the curb, I have to walk it to a recycling center (not drivable). And HOA code requires that I cut up all cardboard into equal pieces and tie them. Newspapers have to be tied too but that's not such a big deal.

that's why you should live in the country - then you can haul them out back to the burn pile.

It amazes me how many areas don't yet have proper recycling.... or any recycling at all. But what really drives me nuts is people who don't recycle, even when it's available right at the curbside. Tying up newspapers and boxes is so 80's. Kudos to you, AJ, for walking things down to the recycling centre.

A secret cleaner.

Our new plumber is a hottie. He is my new secret boyfriend. During the last snowfall my husband was out of town so I was stuck with the shovelling. My friend told me to call the plumber.

I saw a license plate that said "KRIKIT" a few days ago and thought of you

We are currently having a "discussion" about household chores at my house. I want to hire someone to do the heavier stuff, twice a month. Hubby doesn't think we should be paying someone to do it, so he claims that he's going to do it, which is going to be a disaster, and I will end up doing it. Maybe I can hire a secret cleaner. It will be like my own unique kind of affair.

I have someone who does the heavier stuff. I think if you can afford it it's definitely worth it because it gives you time to do other things. I always end up cleaning before she comes

Well, this is my argument. My weekend time is more valuable than the $25/hr or so it costs to pay someone else. I wouldn't go clean someone else's house if they paid me $25/hr, so why should I clean my own for that amount?

I think you should give examples of all the things you could be doing if you weren't cleaning

LAUNDRY! Just got back from the laundromat. Wouldn't be so bad if we had a washer and dryer. Or even a washer and a clothes line. BUT NO, I have to trudge it down the stairs to the car, drive to the laundromat, do it all there, and then drive it home and carry it back up the stairs. A close second is dishes....nothing I like more than cooking a big meal for everyone and then looking at the pile of dishes left in the sink. Every once in awhile, hubby and daughter will pitch in...but not often.

Good idea. I would be doing things like massaging my husband's feet and feeding him tasty treats while he watches soccer.

I love housework. Crank up the music, get naked, and have fun!

Now THAT would make the laundromat interesting!

i totally agree on this.. I hate going to the laundromat.. we do have a washer and dryer in our building but it is too expensive ($1 to wash in a tiny washer and $1 to dry) and the room it is in is never cleaned.. etc.. and the other people who use it are pigs.. ugh.. I only do my laundry there if i absolutely have to ...

we are in the process of maybe moving to a house and one of the requirements is that it has to at least have washer and dryer hook-ups.. :P
