excuse me for not responding. I'm being touched right now by my baby in China. We've both got webcams and use Yahoo with voice daily.

I've heard of the trick to change password for a touch. Why try it until you need to (60 days i think) Oh I'm getting close to a touch then. I'm at 51 days.

So who's going to start the over 50 club?

Phone calls and emails asking about your status (before you are out of date range) will generate a file 'touch'. That's self inflicted touching, and my mother told me that was naughty.

While I agree missinformation helps no one. I will point out that touches give people hope and telling people that touches mean nothing is akin to saying it is hopeless.

I have seen the so called "vj vets" not like this or not like that, well I am sorry but while being a vet gives you knowledge it does not give you position or power. Offer you advice in a kind manner and you will be respected offer it in another manner and you will be looked at as a nay sayer, doombringer, etc...

Dont like something stop reading it or stop posting to it and it will cycle to the bottom of the board. Offer your advice, if people dont heed it then shame on them. Coming on here and proclaiming your sick of this or that appears to me to be someone assuming a position of authority not granted to them by any other means than time. Respect is earned by deed not by time.

My thoughts exactly.

The OP made her point saying that touches do not mean instant approval but saying that she was sick of it sounded a bit harsh. So what if newbies are happy when they're being touched and want to post about it. Let them post as much as they want to post about it.

well to chime in, I have to say in my case I was very happy to see a touch 3 days in a row as I felt like our case was going to go into a dark hole.

It might not mean anything, but to see that they did something, anything at all, made me feel a little bit less anxious.
