Sent my stuff off today ! YAY!biggrin.gif

Cheers!

If you're in a rush to book your interview, start calling DOS everyday in about a week (or earlier if you feel like it). Ask them if your Packet 3 was logged and if you are eligible to schedule your appointment with the consulate.

It took me 7 business days between delivery of my Packet 3 and the OK from DOS to schedule my appointment. It seems to have been 7 days for others lately too.

Hi all again --

What's the exact address you used to mail Packet 3 to? I'm trying to get my fiance to pre-write the address on a manilla envelope so it can be sent by his family if he's out of town and can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks in advance!

You'd think it gets easier to wait because we've been waiting for a long long time... but it gets harder everyday now!

Good luck with rescheduling sooner :)

I'm actually okay with the waiting at this point! The end is so close that it doesn't bother me anymore. It's been 8 months since I filed .. no use being impatient now!

So, along with that address, the website says to "For quicker service, please mark the envelope to the attention of the appropriate department, such as the Office of Consular Affairs or Public Affairs." Does anyone know which department specifically to ATTN to?

Congratulations to everyone getting interviews/scheduling medicals! I hope it all goes by fast and you're with your significant other quicker than you can imagine. :)

Quick question...For the DHL form do we check off "Non immigrant visa" or "Immigrant visa"? for the consular section to which the documents will be sent. I thought it was a non imigrant visa but I see a lot of people have marked it immigrant visa. Also, what address do we send it to for Montreal. I have the 315 Place d'Youville Suite 500 H2Y 0A4. Is that the correct one? Thanks!!

I forgot to mention it's the K1 visa I'm talking about.

Hmm, I didn't use DHL to send my stuff to Montreal, but I did use the Place d'Youville address. Also, the K1 is *technically* a non-immigrant visa but the Immigrant Visa Unit is who I sent it to, now that I think about it...

Good luck with your paperwork!

You can use any company to ship your packet to Montreal but the consulate will only do business with DHL to mail you your approved visa and passport back.

I don't think it matters much, I mailed mined with Xpresspost to their Saint-Alexandre address (to Immigrant Visa Unit) and it was signed for the morning after :) I also wrote my MTLXXX case number on each page of the packet. I had DOS's authorization by phone to schedule my appointment 7 business days later.
