Hi fellow MTL Vjers,

I have a quick question about the NOA 2 expiry dates. My NOA2 expires in Sept, however the only interview spot i could book is in October in Montreal.

I'm wondering what the process is to renew /extend the NOA 2 for the montreal embassy..has anybody been in the same situation? Its really frustrating to get someone at MTL to reply back..

Oh and thanks so much for your advice earlier :)

You don't need to do anything. Your NOA2 is automatically extended when you book an interview date. Most MTLers book their interview after or close to when their NOA2 expires from what I've seen (myself included.) If you didn't do anything at all and your NOA2 expired they'd see it as you abandoning your case but since you have an interview you're good to go.

I tried to post this as well but I was in a hurry to leave the house to catch a flight...

We prayed so much for an earlier date because we really needed it for our schedules, problem is, I think it might be too early! The medical exam is scheduled for August 2 and we just rebooked the interview for August 3. Do you guys know if we will be able to get a new appointment for a medical exam this coming week, or would they be already fully booked?

If it is too late to get an earlier medical exam date, can we send in her exam results to the embassy a day or two after the interview?

Congrats on the new date! My medical is also scheduled for August 2nd and when I scheduled last week that was the first appointment available but I'm sure you can explain the situation and try to get an earlier date. I had trouble reaching them by phone but maybe send an email and they can get you in earlier.

Yes, especially to the bolded if you're doing your medical in Toronto. They get back to emails very quickly.

Thanks for all your replies, but thankfully we were able to get another interview time for Aug 12. That should be enough time to get the medical exam results and all the other paperwork we need.

BTW, I have been keeping track and it seems like new interview times are opened up on fridays after 6pm. For the past three weeks, every Friday after 6 there have been open appointments in august. So if anyone is looking for an earlier time, keep refreshing during this time!

Sometimes you just have to wait the three months. It stinks but there was a time when it was more like 4-6 months, so that helps to keep things in perspective.

For what it's worth, we booked ours in May and it's in August, and as much as it has dragged in many ways it's gone by a lot quicker than expected. (L)

I agree. We booked in May also and our hopes of moving it up were dashed when no dated appeared... but at the same time, you're waiting for a specific goal, unlike waiting for that NOA2. You know exactly how far away it is and that made time pass a lot faster :)
