We met while working for a mid-Atlantic theme park. He came on a J-1 visa sponsored by a work & travel program while in college. I worked in the department that issued employee uniforms and issued him his uniform on his first day. It was a hectic and bad day for me, and his English was very bad. As he likes to remind me, I got very frustrated with him not understanding me. lol. Throughout his 4 month stay, I waited on him various times, mostly to sell him hats (which were part of his uniform) that he was either losing or forgetting at the dorm. During his last month of employment, he came by my counter to ask if I had seen his Facebook friend request (which I hadn't). I thought he was really cute (he has the most amazing smile!) so I added him. During his final week, I invited him to the State Fair. We were unable to go because the night we planned to go, it poured rain. Two days later, he returned to school in Jordan. We kept in touch on Facebook, getting to know eachother better. Over time, our communications went from occasional comments and "likes" to messaging eachother everyday, all day and night long, and talking on Skype. Ten months ago, he told me that he loves me & I felt the same for him. Right then and there, we knew we had to be married. There's no one else in the world I'd rather share my life with than this amazing, funny, sweet, compassionate, loving and gorgeous man!

He was on an F1 visa and we met at a Bible Study he came to. I don't see anyone saying they actually met in the states. Is it THAT uncommon?

You missed a lot then. Also, there is a poll. The person after you and the person 2 before you met in the states, for instance.

Wow, there are a lot of acronyms in that sentence.

Met in a secret place

hey Smiley - accorfding to your profile this is the number of posts you have:

25,800 (93.21 per day)

That's got to be either a world record, mistake, or somehow you figured out a way of programming that.

Thanks to everyone answering the poll. It's interesting that only about 20% met in the fiance's country, which is how we met. This survey is not random of course because it is only internet-savvy people who also participated on this site and happened to see the poll. But I do trust the result that most people are now meeting online.

When I was living in my fiance's community a lot of people asked us with suspicion if we met online. I couldn't understand why it would be suspicions. But I guess it is because there are online nude webchat fora. So I was eager to try it out. I got a webcam and posted my profile on a nude webchat site. My rates are the lowest on there, but I can't seem to get much traffic. I wonder what's wrong. :crying:
