I was the manager of an employment agency.. I kept my eyes on his for about a year. Then finally one day his friend asked me for my number for him and we have talked since had a baby and got married :)

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

We met while I was overseas and working for the same company. We were both in broken yet unresolved relationships with crappy s.o's when we met. A platonic friendship budded between us and eventually blossomed into something beautiful. We are both of the opinion that we first met a very very long time ago in another place and time.heart.gif

Was living/working/doing dissertation research in his country. He was a researcher at our local research partner (different study). We were introduced on the second day of my second stay there when one of my colleagues there told him to teach me to ride a moped. And the rest is history :)

Through ICQ in Jan 2001. We only met because I wanted to go to Lithuania, but I couldn't afford it, so I did a study abroad program to Germany so I'd get financial aid and could go to Lithuania. I never intended to really meet my husband until the study abroad program in Germany put me with this batshitcrazy elderly lady I refused to live with. He only lived about 20-30km away, so I marched to the nearest payphone, called him, and he saved my azz, for real. Rest is history.

We met at a party in Brazil. I was working in the city where he was living and my neighbor invited me out one night and there he was. The rest is history :).

We spent time in Brazil together, did the LD thing, and now he's been here for 4 years. We're moving back to Brazil in 3 months.

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

Quite interesting way we met. My husband came over here on a work visa, for a traveling carinval to see America, and I was working temporarily for the carnival as I was unemployed, and he saw me working in my food stand and thought I was beautiful,he approached me and asked me if I was single, even though I looked my worst, and the rest is history.

9-18-2010 - Sent AOS to Chicago lockbox

9-20-2010 - Package arrived confirmation USPS

9-24-2010 - Received txt message and email for I-797

9-27-2010 - Received NOA1 for I-131, I-130, I-765 and I-485

9-27-2010 - Checks cashed

10-4-2010 - Received biometric appt. (10-28-10)

10-15-2010 - Touched

10-20-2010 - RFE Notice Sent via email on I-485 (Bummer)

10-25-2010 - Recevied RFE

10-26-2010 - Send evidence

10-27-2010 - Evidenced signed for in response to RFE

10-28-2010 - Appear for Biometrics

10-28-2010 - I-765 & I-485 touched

10-29-2010 - I-765 & I-485 touched again

11-1-10 - rec.email regarding continued processing of I-485

11-12-2010 - Received call from congresswoman's office stating they were contacting USCIS to expedite EAD

11-15-210 - Received call from congresswoman's office confirming request to expedite approved and EAD will be adjudicated in 7 business days and should received card 10 days after that. Also the I-485 has been moved to the next step to schedule interview too. Yeah - so happy!!!

11-19-2010 - Received email AP approved and EAD card in production.

11-19-2010 - Received interview letter - appt scheduled on 12-21-2010. :)

11-22-2010 - Received AP in mail

11-26-2010 - Received EAD in mail (Went on 11-29-10 for job interview and start on 12-6-10)

12-21-2010 - Went on Interview and was APPROVED!!!
