Hey everyone!

I am a newbie to all this.. We sent of, for my K1 Visa on Aug 14th and havent heard a thing yet.... we know they recieved it but thats it.... is this normal??

Yes it is, it can take up to 30 days for the acknowledgment (NOA-1). Hang in there.

Don't worry - it could take a month for you to receive the actual NOA1 in the mail.

I-130 petition in DCFR Tokyo: March 14th 2004. Case reffered to DHS USCIS

Four visits to japan in 2004: Oct 2004, wife got pragnant.

Wife/Fiance left USA and moved into Japan: Feb 5th 2005.

Baby Born: June 24th 2005(Japan)

I-130 denied: July 17 2005(Divorce was declared not valid)

Refiling Divorce: oJuly 17th 2005 NY State.

Divorce granted: Nov 17th 2005

K-1 application: Mar 1st 2006

Approval: May 23rd 2006

US consulate RFE: June 15th 2006

FRE sent (Original passports, birth certificate, all origional docs): July 10th 2006

True! Also your case will be sent to CSC for processing, and they are VERY SLOW there. Just look at all the posts flaming that service center!

Did you send it Certified mail with a return card? If you got the green card back then it is not lost.

Your case will be sent from TSC to CSC and it is normal for no NOA1 for up to 30 days.

Hold tight Calling USCIS will only waste your time, give it 30 days, then call.

Dont start worrying, especially this early in the game, you will kill yourself if you do!

Dont worry about the application being lost, they cashed your check, you are fine :thumbs:

You said they already received it right? You sent it via a method that is trackable like Fed Ex or UPS, right? So if you know they have it, they have it. It'll be a few more weeks before you have your NOA1 and then you can settle in for a nice, long wait and no information from CSC on your status.

hey another texas/london couple, we also sent off ours around the same time :)

im allowing at least a month for the NOA1 after reading the last few weeks worth of new posts to TSC. it sucks, but thats the way this game goes. at least its finally on its way and the process has started.

i doubt ill be this clear headed in 4 months when ive still not been aprroved :P

good luck anyway, hope it arrives soon!!

Yep... Quite normal. I-129F's sent to Texas and Nebraska are then sent on to the California Service Center... From there it is impossible to say how long or short your processing time will be.

Good luck on your journey! :yes: And be patient, at least you are on your way! :thumbs:
