BlackPeopleMeet.com and JDate.com exist because there was demand for such a site from enough black people and Jewish people for an entrepreneur to fill that need. Why do you think the demand existed? Because many black people and many Jewish people go on eHarmony and Match (to name a few) and found the pickins slim. They wanted a forum that was more narrowly focused on their specific preferences.

Now - let's say you're just an average white guy. Decent job, decent apartment, decent looking, no criminal record. Are you going to find that available women on eHarmony are mostly just not right for you? And if so, why? If you feel this is so because most of them aren't Christian enough (for example), you can go to one of the many dating sites for people of the Christian faith. If you feel this is so because most of them are too religious, you could go to one of the many dating sites that cater to people who are not religious. But what are the chances of you going to eHarmony or Match and not finding enough white people? That simply doesn't happen right now, which is why there is no real clamor out there for a "white people" dating site.

You make some good points but the truth is, there is a whole army of people (some whites included) to thwart any such attempt to start up a "white TV" or WhiteFolksDating.com or White essence magazine (Ok that mag sounds really boring) but it's not all about market forces.

MSNBC and CNN, too. Just different kinds of white people. MSNBC is after the yuppies, CNN is after the "i like to pretend i'm fair" types. People of color pretty much have to decide which group of white people to align themselves with, just as in politics (which is also essentially a fight between rival groups of white people).
