I'm not sure how you figure that being a "non yuppie" makes one a "white trash type of person". California which was the beginning of the "yuppie trend" is as broke as it gets. It's a poverty stricken state with literally no hope unless the Feds change the law and allow them to file bankruptcy.

"underclass" ??? Most of the peeps I met while hanging iron in Seattle that could be considered as "Yuppies" were up to their necks in credit card bills, house payments, etc... and always paid for their drinks with credit cards, and were by and large the worst tippers Iv'e ever seen. This was in the mid - late 90's...now I'm sure a lot of those peeps are on the dole after the crash.

Oh and I pay for everything on my credit card and I pay it in full every month. I don't get 2% cash back on cash purchases. Credit is not something to be feared.
