Ok, here is the latest update, Court hearing this morning for my husbands disorderly conduct and revoke of bond. The judge listened to him say that he was guilty, told the judge that he would not come near me or hurt me, asked about his possessions that i still have, said that he has a place to stay in another state and that he has several thousand dollars that is waiting in western union... Judge asked me about his possessions, i said they are in storage facility not my home any more. I told the judge that if he is released to anywhere that if he gets public assistance i am going to have to pay it back, judge stated well you brought him here. Looked at him and ordered him released!! Judge did not enforce the revoke of bond on the one year sentence for the domestic battery conviction or do anything on the disorderly conduct with an officer charge... simply report to probation once a day every day until you leave the state...... I left the court unable to breathe.... sure he would come and kill me tonight... took my kids to doctor because of their colds, while checking out my phone rang and its prosecutors office... last minute ICE issued a detainer on him so he will not be released thank god!!!!!!!!!! Now, i know he will be taken to chicago within 48 hours and they will have a hearing there... they may or maynot hold him until final hearing, but my question is will Immigration contact me and let me know what they do with him, or if he is released after his hearing or what??? Just need to know if i will be informed of everything or not. He refused to sign divorce papers as well

Why does ICE have a detainer on him, is because he plead guility to battery charges? Can ICE revok his GC? Will he have another court date with ICE, regarding his GC status. These are the questions I would asked the DA.

alas - it depends. If I were in yer shoes, I'd make sure the ICE officer had my current cell #.

He was arrested in october for felony domestic battery, at my request(stupidly) it was offered as a plea bargain of class A misdeameanor Domestic Battery in which he was convicted and sentenced one year in jail all suspended with probation... About 20 days ago he went to prosecutor and tried to have me arrested on false allegations of attacking him and upon investigating the prosecution refused to press charges on me. He was yelling the whole time and refused to calm down at the officers request, told them that he would take care of me his way and he was arrested at that time for disorderly conduct. The charges were disorderly conduct and revoke of bond from the previous case, he pled guilty to both today at a class C misdemeanor so now he has 3 convictions on record and is being detained on the conviction of domestic battery. I need to keep tabs as to where he is for 2 reasons. ... one for the final divorce hearing papers in april, and 2 to make sure whether he is in custody or released so i know if i am safe or not

i have called chicago field office as they are handling this as far as i know and left a message for them to please call me, the arresting officer and chief investigator for prosecutor office has also told me they included a note that he is believed to be capable of killing me in his file and that if i need anything, including for them to talk to immigration to let them know and to give their cell numbers to them.

leaving a voice mail, IMO, isn't enough.

Trying however all i get is the answering service saying they are unavailable to take the call so all i can do is leave the message, which i will do over and over and over until i finally reach a person

I don't know your husband and there's really no point in speculating what he will do or won't do. I once knew a guy who, when got crossed, used a carpet knife and cut open the guys' both legs. The guy was so afraid of him that he never pressed charges. Your husband may be a dog that barks or a dog that bites. Who knows better than you as you brought him here (the judge's statement) and you lived with him.

Anway . . . ICE now detained him and it's most certainly as they want to revoke his privilege of residency. Getting this accomplished will require the signature of an immigration judge, so that's where he's headed. I would be surprised if the judge wouldn't agree with ICE's assessment and grant the request. Given the nature of his "crimes" I doubt that voluntary departure will be an option. Most likely he will be deported a few weeks from now.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Yes he has been here only a few months and all this began 30 days after he arrived.. i know many egyptians,,, he is one of very few that i know of that behave this way, only one other do i know of that a friend of mine was involved with.. Egyptians are wonderful people and i myself cannot believe that this is coming from him. Anyway, yes ICE has him detained, however i need to find out if they will keep me informed of what they are doing with him and the procedings for 2 reasons, if they let him out pending final decision or out to leave voluntarily it places me in danger... and 2nd, i need to have an address to file the final divorce papers after the 60 days has passed from my first filing, so i need to know if he is still in their facility at that time, has been let out pending hearing and what his address is, or if he is in egypt again. Hoping that since the investigator that arrested him this time put a statement in the file, a formal statement that he feels that this man is capable of killing me that he will not be released for any reason

I have no doubts since he has hit me and caused injury enough to go to hospital and then turned around and tried to have me falsely arrested that he will follow through with the threat to take care of me his way.... if he has any chance given to him i am dead, i feel it and i know it
