Are you pissed off at USCIS?

There are many VJ members who have been and continue to be miss-treated by USCIS. Those lucky enough to be able to file at VSC are first class citizens in this country but if you are unlucky enough to have to file at CSC then you are second class citizens of this country. There are many here with horror stories of how incompetent USCIS has handled their case regardless of what service center they filed.

I have noticed the only time politicians seem to try to fix anything is when they come under attack by the news media. Maybe we can .......use the news media to get some changes at USCIS. Illegal Immigration is a hot topic in the new media already. Maybe we can get some attention for Legal Immigration because it's broke too.

My idea is this: Chose one news person who will be willing to bring some attention to our issues. Example: At CNN some leading news people are Lou Dobbs, Paula Zahn, Larry King, Anderson Cooper. At Fox News some leading news people are Bill Oreilly, Hannity & Colmes, Shepard Smith, Greta Van Susteren. If at some point in the future one of these news anchors began to get hundreds of emails from people all over the USA explaining their horrible expirences with USCIS then they might be willing to bring some media attention to the problems we all face.

Maybe we could agree on one influential news person, get a good email address for them, decide on a day to start sending emails, send them often addressing a multitude of concerns we have. Then see what happens. One small stick can easily be broken, but bundle many small sticks together and they are very strong.

(edit) And someone should write Oprah. Oprah has leagues of soft-hearties in her palms. I would do it, but she never replied to me the last time.

I have to agree TJV I've been very frustrated with USCIS. Its just not fair that we are tax paying CITIZENS and having to go through this when it seem the illegal aliens are going to just be given citizenship.

My, how things have changed in a year......It used to be NSC that was the villain....

CSC was the second fastest and yes, VSC was, and still is the fastest.

The problem within this thread is the simple fact that by the time most of you "act", you probably will get approved.

Just be patient. Sixty days plus isn't out of the ordinary. It's pretty much typical.

I know it makes you guys feel better to think you can, "collectively", complain and change the process but that's all it is, a "feel good" action.

Be patient- Good luck......

I agree! When I started this I started reading about IMBRA and expected it to screw me just as it has done many people.

The IMBRA law passed by liberals, has done nothing but screw up the lives of many innocent people, and the way USCIS has handled this law is just as bad.

I am just started seeing people that were taged by this IMBRA reg getting approvals, when the law got passed USCIS should have upgraded the forms and system back in January, and not recalled all the approved petitions that were already as far as stage of packet 3 sent.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

This is not about whether or not we will get approved or our patience. This is about fairness.

I agree, I think it's time to do something. At least if it appears on TV for at least a minute, it will scare the s**t of the service center directors and they might get their act together.

Another idea, we could send the same letter we sent our congressman/woman to Larry King with the timelines we have from VJ as proof.

LETS DO IT i am sick of waiting without doing nothing...

YES! YES! YES!

Here's a refinement I might add. We don't stop with just one news person. Each day or each week--we can decide what would be best in terms of building momentum--we bombard a new individual. One day it's Shawn Hannity, another day it's Larry King, another day still it's Bill O'Reilly, Al Franken. Lefties and Righties...But I want to say right now that I think that Righties are going to be a lot quicker to pick up the cause. They're the ones who are always screaming against illegal immigration and so will be much happier to plug reform for LEGAL immigration. I think we're really onto something now. I'm so friggin' PSYCHED!!! Shall we come up with the first few names and a schedule? If communicating via email will facilitate this process, please feel free to contact me that way. We may want to start making phone contact with each other, too, at some point in order to coordinate more easily and quickly. Lemme know...I'm definitely IN!

Not to rain on your parade, but do you guys think you're the first people to try a media blitz on this very topic? Perhaps you'd like to talk to the group that tried this the last time people were riled up -- was it last month? Can't remember.

Sorry to seem cynical, but in the two years I have been on VJ, many people have tried this and have gotten hardly anywhere. let us know how it goes.
