My husband (from Albania) and I seem to be almost done with the DCF visa process- he's received his final interview appointment and his medical appointment. His medical appointment was made for August 22 and his interview date is for September 5. At his medical appointment, they told him he needs to come back one more time for the blood test and X-ray, but here is the problem: THEY SAID THE ONLY APPOINTMENT THAT HAVE LEFT IS ON SEPTEMBER 4!!! ONE day before his interview!!!!!!!!! We are so nervous and frustrated and we don't know what to do!!! What will the Consulate say if he comes to the interview and the doctor's haven't processed his tests? Has anyone had an experience like this or have any advice? We felt like the end was so close and now I'm worried we are going to be apart for even longer.

hmmm i dont know if i can be much help, but in my experience with the medical exam my husband recieved his results in an envelope the same day..... we recieved both his test results and his chest xray, but we were told we had to go to the pharmacy and buy a vaccine and come back because the doctor didnt have any in stock... obviously it might differ from doctor to doctor.. you could call the doctors office and ask how that will work?? they have experience with this...

You can have the interview at the scheduled time. What will happen is that the visa will not be approved until the results of the medical are completed and reviewed. They will probably ask him to give them his passport and they will forward the information once everything is complete.

Ditto to zyggy. Plus, the medical offices often get the results right over to the consulate. Maybe if you ask, or let them know that you have the interview that next day they will move even more quickly.

If the doctor's isn't far, ask them to call you if they get a cancellation.

For our Consulate, there was a note that the medical results took 3 days, and we should plan accordingly. For other places, this isn't an issue.
