To cut a long story short i started the whole process in the end of may.I got my NOA in the first week, had my biometrics on the 22nd then on the 23rd i was issued an rfe.

The rfe was undelivered and sent back to lee's summit. It finally arrived after 6 weeks. I sent all the information they wanted back. In the meantime my AP was approved on the 19th of august and i got the papers in the mail on monday. The last update on my AOS case was the 23rd of august after it was touched for several days. They continued processing the case on the 15th of august. Because of the rfe delay its over 3 months since we first applied for AP,AOS and EAD. Does anyone know how long more we will have to wait until i get an interview letter. According to my timeline i should be getting my EAD as early as september 8th. I had to apply for the EAD again after it was rejected the first time due to a wrong date on the friggin check.

I am just getting anxious as i read about peoples interview letter getting lost in the post and then getting denied due to missing the interview. I seriously dont want that happening to us. I have my name on the mailbox, the postman has been told and the post office are aware that i am expecting letters from US immigration over the next month. This is causing a major strain in my marriage as we are barely above water financially.

As my ap was approved does that mean the rfe information i sent back was ok for them to continue with my case?

Hi Donal,

First, relax, take a deep breath and stop panicking. You have received the AP so they do have your address correct right now. Have you signed up with the USCIS website to receive emails about your applications? That way if by the unlikely chance that a message sent to you was returned you will most likely be notified by email of the status change. Second, your AOS was submitted the end of May and you received an RFE very quickly. Your file has been touched pretty very recently - that shows they are working on your file. You had your biometrics near the end of June - security checks generally take 3 to 4 months to clear and many offices wait until the security checks come back before they schedule interviews. You have been 3 months in the AOS process to date from filing and that doesn't include the time out for the RFE. 3 months is almost the absolute minimum for anyone to be approved without an RFE, and the majority of people take longer than that. Not to get you more stressed, but my own AOS took 1 week short of 24 months - and that was without RFEs or anything out of the ordinary. It depends on how busy the local office for your area is. It is likely that your EAD will be processed and received soon. It has only been about 60 days since you submitted it and they generally try to process them within 90 days. So, try to relax and realize that you are barely within the time limits to expect to receive an interview and that the majority of people have not heard anything by this stage of the process. I am sure you will hear something soon - just keep telling yourself that impatience only adds undue stresses to an already stressful situation. You don't need to be doing that to yourself. You will be ok.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thank you kathryn for that piece of advice. My wife says the same thing to me over and over again. All i can do is hope the office in manchester,NH move pretty soon. I stress out for no reason over this immigration process all the time and its not good.

I agree with Peter Miami! It drives anyone crazy... Both my husband and I are kind of impatient, and we only sent in our application 4 weeks ago! If you are used to effective work this whole process makes you wanna scream. But we try to relax and enjoy our time. Like hubbie says: it is the only time for a long period that you don't have to work -try to enjoy it! It's so hard to believe but true.....

Good luck!

Anna

PS: Though I have to say I freak out everytime I see they did something stupid. Then I need to vent and I am fine again... ;)
