No more hysterical than the American Indians sitting around smoking a peace-pipe, way back when......while kicking around the concern over European immigration to their lands..... and if it might result in the death of their culture and people.

There is a reason Constantinople .... got a name change..... and it wasn't because it was a bit too long.

You can't lambast sectarianism while casting divisive aspersions of your own.

You might think it's tonally apposite, but it's logically incoherent.

Constantinople? Why are you allowed to go back in history as far as you wish to make a point, but, when I mention the Inquisition, the Crusades, European colonialism, or even WWII, I'm historically off-point?

Logically incoherent is a common tactic on P&R. I picked it up from others here who understand nothing else. I long ago dismissed logic as a valid tactic of debate here. It's relatively useless against the kinds of emotionally driven posts which dominate here.

Well I prefer logic, and can recognize arguments that use them, and others that dance around it. I guess this section of the site has quiet ones that give quiet support, or that are just tired of debating with usual suspects that say the same things to get the same reactions from the same people. Isn't there a good rule structure here to rid the site of pests?

I'm not sure there would be much of a site without the pests lol.

I'm flattered that you and faust-yusov recognize the fact that I'm capable of forming logical arguments and that you both took the time to admonish me for not doing it. I beat my head against the wall for at least a year trying to get everyone to conform to my preference for logic, but was smart enough to face facts: this forum is for entertainment, not for proper debate. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Quite true. This part of the website I assume to be pure entertainment. Do people here get so rabid that they go totally apecrazy? Nuts!

Someone wrote something about internet debates being for idiots. I see the truth in that now, although that eventually means all of us are exactly that!
