Hi all

I have my interview in Montreal tomorrow and was just wondering about a few things. When you go to the window, do you give them everything from the checklist all at once, or do they ask you for certain things? Also, when they ask you for the I-134, Affidavit of Support, do you give them just the form or the form plus all the documents you have listed on there ex: employers letter, bank letter etc.? I'm a tad nervous, but from all the great experiences from Montreal, I know I shouldn't be. Some things just can't be helped :)

Firstly, good luck tomorrow! :thumbs::yes:

At the first window (14) she'll just give you a number. At the second window they'll then ask you for what she needs (my lady said it all really quickly one after the other and it flustered me). Definitely put your I-134 info right behind the form and give it all to her at once. It was the 2 forms you have to sign, passport pics, medical, I-134 stuff, police certificate.

Bring change for the vending machines!

I dont know what they require for a k1 as I was a cr-1 in Mtl, but try not to worry, the staff are great. few pointers:

Try to keep your pockets clear of metal, as you go through airport like security!! No big bags, back packs, electronics of any kind.

Keep interview letter handy, as security will want to see it

Goto back of elevator as it opens first at the desired floor!!

Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Thanks Canuck Carrie! I just want to be able to give her what she wants fast. I'm not sure, but didn't you say she seemed a bit annoyed that you have to look through your binder. Definately don't want anyone annoyed with me, especially tomorrow. I can bring a book, can't I? Or would they confiscate it?? Thanks for the advice about change for the vending machine. :)

PS Thanks to you too flames 9 :)

After I signed the forms I needed to sign, paid the fee I needed to pay, etc., the clerk said to me: "Give me what you got" -- I had all the items on the list in order in my binder, and just pulled them out and handed them over. So long story short, it was a combo of asking for specific things, and then all the rest. :)

Take a breath, relax, and many best wishes for success tomorrow.

A book is definitely okay, I had one too. If you bring a purse/bag of any sort, make sure you've already cleaned out all the pockets, security will go through them as well as your wallet.

Yes, she was not nice, maybe because it was Monday. She actually said 'we have to hurry because you have to pay as well'.

And I forgot to add, they want the letter of intent from the USC.
