He did ask about the impact of the withdrawn K-1 on any possible future petitions, though.

You will have to complete details of this withdrawal on any future I-129F petitions, but they only start digging deeper if you are on your 3rd or subsequent petition. There are several long-standing VJers with (successful, I believe) experience of this.

Timeline Summary:

K-1/K-2 NOA1 - POE: 9 February - 9 July 2010

Married: 17 July 2010

AOS mailed - Interview : 22 November 2010 - 10 March 2011

ROC mailed - approved: 14 February - 18 June 2013

Citizenship mailed - ceremony: 9 February - 7 June 2017

When my ex and I broke up, we had our NOA2 and he had already rec'd p3. I called up USCIS, and the lady told me that if I just let it expire, it would be fine. That's what I did.

I knew I'd never petition for another immigrant again, so I'm not sure if not doing anything affected me one way or the other, but he never got his visa obviously.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear that buddy, in my opinion she made you a very good favor that you find out now then later. Techinally according to state department website "The I-129F petition is valid for four months from the date of approval by USCIS. A Consular Officer can extend the validity of the petition if it expires before visa processing is completed.". Also as a good experience never marry abroad instead stick with K1 fiancee visa so at least you have 90 days to find out if you made the right decision. Good luck buddy!

I will remind everyone before this topic goes much further, the OP is asking about how to withdraw his approved I-129f petition and what ramifications having one I-129f petition on file will be if/when he files for someone else. He is NOT asking for relationship advice, judgment about his current or future relationships nor any other input other than advice on the immigration process and logistics. Please answer the questions asked only, and do not speculate on nor offer more than is requested. Thank you.

I got married after filing 2 k-1's and withdrawing 2 k-1's. I could not risk it. Anyway we spent 1 month together. Before during and after the wedding. It was great I would do again in about a minute. Her family was very understanding, we really had a great time. Everything we planned before I arrived happened just like she said it would. I don't think it could have worked more perfect if wrote it down in a book and followed it along. I would say if you write everyday you will know the person better than dating them in a few months. You still need to spend lots of time together.
