Fiance Letter of Intent to Marry

Hello Everyone,

On my fiance's letter of intent to marry the date is written wrong. It says 01/28/2010. It's incorrect by one year. Should have been 2011. I was going to send in the I-129f packet this week. I need to get another letter with the correct date from her. So can I have her scan it or fax it to me or does USCIS need the original signature on the letter. Will they give us an RFE for a scanned or faxed copy?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mike

It's supposed to be original signature.

You can submit a scanned copy and then have her send you an original so that if an RFE is issued you can respond promptly.

That's a good idea, to have it just in case. Thanks for your response. It's good to hear from a fellow MA resident.

Unless they miss it, you'll get an RFE. God ahead and have her send it to you now so you'll be ready. It is on the checklist on the I-129F instructions.

My fiancee signed hers in blue ink. I waited for it to come again in black, because when I called USCIS the non-thinking-robotic customer service rep said their computer says everything from online has to be black ink.

Definite RFE. It's in the I-129F instructions (page 3, Step2, 5.B.) as required.

I don't know how big the Filipino community is here in MA. I hope that my fiance can meet some fellow Filipinos to acclimate better.

talk to you later.

Thanks!!

Lisa

oh, I think I see it in the instructions, but it is rather vague. So is it just any kind of letter you write?
