Yellow envelope from Embassy

I just want to verify something about the K1 visa; is it printed inside the passport? I’m just wondering since my fiancée said the only thing she can access is the passport since the instructions say not to open the yellow envelope. I also know that she needs the visa in order to take it to the CFO seminar.

Congratulations! Her visa is stamped in her passport which is what she needs for CFO. Just make sure to tell her not to open the yellow envelope that has the warning "DO NOT OPEN".

Yep, my wife had the same questions. She actually called the Embassy and asked where the Visa was. The lady laughed at her and told her to look in the middle of the passport book, she had only looked at the first few pages.

LOL! I could see that happening to me. Thankfully, I posted here first, and my fiancee found it in her passport :) It still baffles me why they have an envelope that says in bold letters DO NOT OPEN, yet several people (including my fiancee) noticed a tear on the edge of their envelope before they even touched it :wacko:

probably so if it's inspected at immigrations, it can be seen it only contains documents.

Mine has a tear too!

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)
