Ok, I have a two part question: How slow or fast does the NVC operates? My petition was approved on Jan 31 and as of last Friday (02/11/2011) all I have is the NVC case number. The file is yet to be sent to the consulate. How long does this part normally takes?

Second question: I was unemployed for couple of yrs hence I did not file taxes, but since August of 2010 I have been gainfully employed and making more than the required income for a family of 4. Do I still need a sponsor or will my pay stubs and letter from my employer be enough? Basically, is it the prior income that matters or the present income?

Present income.And who knows how long it will take for NVC to send it although it should have got there by now.

Your present income will be sufficient enough since you say you meet the income guidelines no need for a co sponsor. Also when you called the NVC did they say your case is still there? If so what was the reason. My case stayed at the NVC and additional 15 days 22 including weekends in additional processing but then it was sent to Lagos. Good luck

We got our NOA2 approved on January 3rd. NVC received on the 5th of the same month and Lagos got it four days later. You have to send an e-mail to Lagos Consulate for your packet 3.

On 08Feb11 we got an email notification that our NOA2 was approved. Yesterday 14Feb11, I recieved the hard copy.

1. When would the NVC receive it?

2. How long before they assign a case number and when and how do I get this?

3. Should I expect them to send it out to the consulate this week?

The NVC should have your case already call them and they will give you your new case number if it has been assigned....sometimes it takes a while but not often. They should send it out shortly after it arrives in most cases. Just call them and they will give you all the info you need have your receipt number from your NOA1 and DOB of beneficiary and petitioner ready and you ask them for your new case number and if it has been sent to the embassy....Good LUCK!!!!

Or you can just go here http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html and download pkt 3 while you wait for them to send it to you that way you will be ahead of the game when it comes to filling out the paper work. Good Luck to you guys!!!!

JoshGriga I dont believe the UK has a link like that...I am not 100% on that though because I am not very familair with the embassy in the UK. I do however believe that they mail out there pkt 3 and 4. Nigeria does not mail out there pkt 3 or 4 nor can you go to the embassy to pick it up. they normally email the beneficiary with the link. You probably will get better info on pkt 3 and 4 for the UK if you post in the UK portal. sorry I wasnt of much help...Good Luck

What is in P3? The link you provided only download the medical and police.
